Overview

It's understandable that you might have OD'ed on Sarah McLachlan. She's everywhere -- radio, VH1, and all over the glossies -- but a dose of Mirrorball just might cure you. On her first full live disc, the Canadian superstar is given more room to play, and she delivers her songs from Fumbling Towards Ecstasy and Surfacing with new enthusiasm. As pleasing as the hits "Building a Mystery," "Aida," and "Angel" are, it's the older material that provides the sweetest treats of the package: This version of "Hold On" makes the line "This is going to hurt like hell" sound more delicious than "Ice Cream," while "Possession" is boosted into a more rollicking adventure than the original. The undeniable pinnacle of this set, however, is the gorgeous rendering of "I Will Remember You," often overlooked as one of McLachlan's best tracks.

This is a very very good cd.If you like Sarah Mclachlan, which I do(she is the greatest singer of all time),get this cd.It mainly has her hits on it.It is a great cd,but the down side is that the songs were recorded at during her concerts.Besides that it is a great cd,like I said.It has ''building a mystery'',''angel'',''sweet surrender'',and more.I can not seemto stop listening to it.If I'm have trouble deciding what to listen to,I always end up listening to this cd.I hope that you enjoy as much as I have.

Sometimes people over look the words and the way they are used in Sarah's music, take a second look and see the way she so tenderly makes the english language sound... I could never do it... but the way she sings brings life to the words that flow from her mouth is amazing. '' Speak to me in riddles.. Oh in to the sea of waking dreams..'' Just beautiful... I would most definatly say she has to be one of the best female vocalist this decade...

Wow. You will be taken aback by the pure beauty of the music, lyrics, and the mood it creates. Unbelievable how beautiful it is.

The sound quality is great, as are most of the songs. I just think that she should have put "Elsewhere" and "Plenty" on this CD instead of "Fumbling Towards Ecstasy" and "I Love You." "I Love You" is too slow, and "Fumbling Towards Ecstasy" drives me up the wall. You're better off with the complete concert of "Mirrorball," which has two discs and a white cover. Then you can make a CD out of the best tracks there.

If you like ANY of Sarah's songs, this album is a must. Sarah Mclachlan is not only the BEST female musician alive, but she is also one of the best live performers. Her emotional singing will give you chills.

It's common for musicians performing live to not sound as good as they do sitting in a recording studio. But Sarah McLachlan is a rare exception. In my opinion, even though many of these tracks have appeared in her earlier albums, the songs in Mirrorball sound so much more raw and passionate than before; in particular the song "Angel" here, opposed to the original, breathy version, is so much more chilling and aching with its strong, vibrant live version. This CD offers a stunningly beautiful experience for anyone, whether they are already familiar with Sarah or not.

I love this cd. A lot of these songs I had passed over, but with the live cd they have become some of my favorites!

No singer in a very long time has touched me like this CD. I play it continually. Only frustration is we need more of you Sarah!

Few people have been able to reach me in that far, far inner place that rarely is articulated, but Sarah's lyrics touch a deep nerve. Her voice has a rare clarity and her vision is both ethereal and real. I have celebrated with the simple celebration of ''Ice Cream'' and ached over ''Hold On.'' I like ''Mirrorball'' because the energy of the audience deepens the texture of the album. I cut my teeth on her studio works, and my Sarah library is now 6 albums strong. She is such a universal, personal and rare voice that I find my self grateful for the opportunity to listen to her.
