This book was life-changing. Not only for our newborn whom we were naming, but also the scriptural and spiritual significance of our older childrens names as well as mine and my husbands. I've never owned a book that so many people have borrowed!

This author has given us a window into each of our children's names back in the 80's. Now, they have their own children, and as grandparents we again refer to this book to have an understanding of our grandchildren's names, both first and middle names. This is a great tool to relate to them personally and to also pray for their life's paths. What a blessing this author Dorothy Astoria has been over these decades to our family.

The book does not divide up the names by gender so it is overwhelming to read if you don't know what letter you want your baby's name to start with. Not a lot of normal or trendy names- contained a lot of hebrew, middle-eastern names. I returned my copy and bought another baby name book.

Though I greatly appreciate the concept of putting a spiritual significance to the names included in this book, some of the "significants" chosen seem to have no connection to the name itself. However, it is a valuable resource and includes the traditional name meanings.

My daughter used this book as a girls youth leader and made cards with all the girls names, meanings and scriptures on them...girls loved them...we've also had fun just looking up the names of all the people we know...very useful and entertaining.
