This best-selling book from Michael W. Smith has sold over 150,000 copies. As relevant today as when Michasel first wrote it, Old Enough to Know gives straight, Biblical answers to the struggles of growing up: sex, drugs, alcohol, peer pressure, parental conflict, friendship, goals, responsibilities and materialism. Calling it "a book for my friends," the author assures teens that he knows they are old enough to know the difference between the phony and the genuine, and attempts to show how he - and other adults! - have genuinely "been there" and can help.

Michael W. Smith helps Christian teenagers cope with the various pressures and issues that accompany growing up in a faithful Christian manner. He also tries to help the reader effectively deal with past mistakes and current problems according to God's word in the Bible. No matter what the topic: drugs, alcohol, peer pressure, abuse, premarital sex, suicide, depression, etc., Michael offers hope and encouragement to the reader, assuring them of his belief in them, but most importantly, of God's belief in them. In discussing these issues, Michael refers to many accounts of adolescent struggles in letters that he has received from some of his young fans. Although he stresses that he is not a psychologist or psychiatrist, he offers advice, based upon his own experience of growing up, and what he has learned from it. But most importantly, the advice that he offers is based upon what God says about these things, and how God wants us to deal with the issues in our lives. Thus, Michael encourages the reader to never give up, and to always remember that God truly and deeply loves them. I highly recommend this and all of Michael's other books, especially: This is Your Time, Your Place in this World: Discovering God¿s Will for the Life in Front of You, Friends Are Friends Forever, and Old Enough to Know.
