The release of Celine Dion's One Heart coincides with the opening night of her exclusive, three-year, 600-show run at Las Vegas's Caesar's Palace. But unlike the show, which features flashy Cirque du Soleilinspired choreography, the disc is not the aural extravaganza fans have come to expect from the diva behind Titanic-sized ballads like "My Heart Will Go On." Instead of filling One Heart with sentimental swooners that showcase her impeccable powerhouse pipes, as she did with 2002's comeback, A New Day Has Come, Dion opts for an understated, youthful-sounding mix of up- and mid-tempo songs. The disc's surprising tone -- think Shania Twainstyled pop-country and modern rock -- is set by the opening track, a pulsating rendition of Roy Orbison's "I Drove All Night," previously covered by Cyndi Lauper. That's also the cut heard in Dion's inescapable Chrysler television ads, for which the singer earned $10 million. So she's got plenty to sing about: The lighthearted sound continues with überpop producer Max Martin's predictably delicious "Love Is All We Need," which could easily fit on any Britney Spears album. That song, however, and Martin's equally infectious "Faith," benefit from Dion's beautifully subtle vocal interpretation, reminding us that for all the gloss, she's a talent to be reckoned with. Still, no Celine Dion album would be complete without a few riveting power ballads, and One Heart doesn't disappoint. Never mind that two of the show-stoppers, the string-laden "Sorry for Love" and the Daryl Hallpenned tear-jerker "Have You Ever Been in Love," originally appeared on A New Day Has Come. While her new direction may baffle her adult-contemporary steadies, the house money says that hipper Celine fans -- and those caught up in her typhoon of cross-promotion -- will definitely fall in love with One Heart.

I thought it was a pretty good CD. It's not her best, but who can say what her best is?! Mrs. Dion has such a beautiful, powerful voice, that she could probably get away with singing anything she wants. Oh, Mrs. Dion, thank you for releasing your past two C.D.'s exactly on my birthday!! And I would like to hear Celine do a song that's got a blue's or jazz vibe to it. I think it'd be great.
I love this cd. I've played this cd at least 30 times. My favorite songs are I Drove All Night, Faith, Coulda Woulda Shoulda, One Heart and Have You Ever Been In Love. I would love to see her show in Las Vegas. She has an incredible voice.
if your a huge celine fan you will buy this album regardless of what people say.it's not one of her best albums but it has some great upbeat sounds which is good for a change.though i don't know why they had to put "have you ever been in love" on this album too. the new verson of "sorry for love" is great. the song "i know what love is" is my favorite.
Who records only a couple new stuff and pairs it with her most recent album!!!! I felt cheated when I picked it up!!!! There are only two good songs!!!! I drove all Night and One Heart!!! Both are really good the others are not even worth it!!!!
When this album came out i thought it would be like A New Day Has Come or Let´s Talk About Love but but it is worse i was so disappointed for the first time i was disappointed for this album that Celine rushed to release she recorded only 10 songs for this album 4 songs where recorded 2 years earlier 2001.I don´t understand the songs here they are not sung in her full voice she uses her lowregister vocals and that´s fine but the songs are lame. The few songs that i like from One Heart are The no#1 single I Drove All Night she sings with her power here and this is the only powerful song on the album,Reveal,Forget me Not and I Know What Love Is. The english-french song Je´taime Encore is powerful but boring i can´t feel this album and sorry Celine i never listen to it you should stick to your roots this is not the Celine i uset to know. Celine also doesn´t work with David Foster or Walter Afanasieff maybe that´s the problem she should stick to their production in the future.
What a refreshing new CD from Celine! Take a deep breath and enjoy its love songs. I love it.
Don't get me wrong--I do like this album a lot, but I found it repetitive of the last album i.e. including the same track "Have You Ever Been in Love." I absolutely LOVE "Revealed" and "I Drove All Night," but I kind of feel like Celine pushed this album out to correspond with her show opening in Vegas. I would have liked to have seen a few of the songs replaced with more quality "Celine" songs...like all the classics we love. Overall, I would say this album is good, but not great.
this is the album of Renaissance to Celine! (Even she's not dead)! going from powerful pop/rock labirynthes,to soft ballads ,and finally to up-lifting songs,we give in deliberately to this magical voice! if the coming albums are pop and rock too ,no one would go out safe from the storm that is about to blow ,get ready folks ,the volcano is upppppppp!
There is no female vocalist on the globe who can compare with the intensity and accuracy of Celine Dion's voice. None - at all. There are other cd's she's done that demonstrate more soulfulness from her voice but on "One Heart" her voice has never sounded "richer" or more skillful. The extent of her career might buckle some less disciplined or talented singers but I am ever so grateful that she shows no signs of slowing down. There is great diversity on this cd. She now handles upbeat numbers with as much ease and comfort as her extraordinary ballads. The more upbeat songs on some earlier cd's seemed awkward and forced and she still has some seriously melodramatic moments on "One Heart" that seem disingenuous but over all this cd shows that she has grown and moved forward; she took some risks and made some changes in a limited way but didn't foresake what makes her the very best female vocalist in her genre. Hands down she is now in her own league and I am thrilled she's still so young and still so willing to wow us all with her music and her charming open heartedness.
"One Heart" is buoyant and cascades beautiful notes from a stunning voice but more than anything it demonstrates that Celine's voice is not only incredibly pure but also more versatile. Her voice has become even richer and has even more depth. There are some stretches for her here on some of the more rhythmic almost hip-hop sounds but as consummate a professional as ever she rises to the challenge and they work because they don't go too far afield from her reliable style. In some of her most early recordings some of those attempts to "go for the beat" didn't quite get the rhythum, I think because of the English lyrics which didn't seem natural for her given her native tongue - French. The best tracks on "One Heart" are still those where she holds long luxurious notes, where her sound is powerful and energetic. Somtimes her expressiveness seems a little overly dramatic but no other singer can sing the songs that Celine sings with the precise tones and smooth transitions with which she sings them - noone. Her technical competence on a song like "I know what love is" is inspiring. "Have You Ever Been in Love" is by far the most delicious track but none of the tracks disappoint. "Falling Into You" is to me still her most genuinely heartfelt album to date but her growth is clearly evident in "One Heart" and it's a joyous listen.
EXCELLENT-BRAVO...Celine you've done it yet once again with your angelic voice. This time you've succeeded trying a different repertoire and making POP songs even better than teenagers singing pop nowadays. You can do anything and you sound great...the songs are not your typical Celine songs yet very fresh, contemporary and young...targetting all of us young at hearts...One heart is trully a brilliant piece of work uniting all of our hearts into one...Thanks LA DIVA for your continuous presence in the musical industry. Without you, it would be a dark world...Love always...Your #1 FAN from Montreal, Roberto
This new album is incredible. Listen to "I drove all night", "Naked", "Faith", and "Reveal". I'm sure you will be amazed by Celine's powerful voice.
A must have for Celine fans. This one is a CD you will play over and over. Your favorite song will change each time you listen.
I think Celine did an outstanding job with this CD. I've now listened to this CD three times already. My favorite songs has to be I Drove All Night and One Heart. I recommend this CD to anyone who's a Celine fan.
I have been waiting for another Celine album for so long, and here it is "One Heart". This album is absoluely wonderful. The music offers some newer, "poppier" sounds, as well as her traditional sounds. If you like Celine, you will certainly like this album.
Dion sounds great on this new collection of songs that totally suit her voice perfectly. This is truly the album she should have released instead of *A New Day Has Come*. The songs here are soulful, acoustic and electric guitar driven, which create an overall mature sound for Dion. This is a singer that has shown serious growth with every effort. From the catchy remake of *I Drove All Night*, to one of the album's high-points, *Stand By Your Side*, Celine has captured a pop-sound that withstands time. Her incredible voice doesn't hurt here either! It seems like all the songs have single potential, including *Faith*, and the romantic *In His Touch*. The Las Vegas show will prove success with such songs. I've already bought my ticket after hearing this! *One Heart* is definitely a treat to listen to over and over. Tireless songs are the true test of a great album. Celine Dion has done it, finally a new day has come!
Celine Dion is the greatest female artist of all time and One Heart has a new sound for Celine Rock and country it´s cool and she also make the epic ballads and pop but this album is wonderful though i liked A New Day Has Come more One Heart is great as Celine´s 9th studio album and it only took 2 weeks to make this album that´s just unbelieveble but true, because she had a new show A New Day and there wasn´t any time but she picket wonderful songs and the only wrong thing with this album is that she picked 3 songs from the latest realize A New Day Has Come that is strange. Celine has amazing voice i just love her voice it is so powerful and magical Celine will always be my all time favorit singer if you are a Celine fan you will also love Tina Arena and Lara Fabian they have the same range and ancelic voices as miss Dion and Streisand.
