Overview

Mega-bestselling author Ken Blanchard and celebrated business leaders Don Hutson and Ethan Willis present an inspiring story that reveals the secrets to becoming a successful entrepreneur.

In THE ONE MINUTE ENTREPRENEUR, Ken Blanchard (coauthor of the #1 bestselling business classic The One Minute Manager), Don Hutson, CEO of U.S. Learning, and Ethan Willis, CEO of Prosper Learning, tell the inspiring story of one man’s challenges in creating his own business. Through a powerful and engaging narrative, we confront many of the typical problems all entrepreneurs face in starting up their business, from finding new sources of revenue to securing the commitment of their people and the loyalty of their customers. More important, we learn the secrets to becoming a successful entrepreneur, including how to build a firm foundation, how to ensure a steady cash flow, and how to create legendary service. In addition, the book offers invaluable advice, delivered through One Minute Insights, from such entrepreneurs and thinkers as Sheldon Bowles, Peter Drucker, Michael Gerber, and Charlie “Tremendous” Jones.

Today, in the midst of the largest entrepreneurial surge in U.S. history, four out of five small businesses continue to fail. THE ONE MINUTE ENTREPRENEUR offers businesspeople and would-be entrepreneurs a treasure trove of wisdom on how to think, act, and succeed in creating and sustaining a business, no matter what their industry.

Glad I checked this book out at the library instead of buying it. Unlike The One Minute Salesperson, a great resource, this revolved around a story that I could'nt get into.

The One-Minute Entrepreneur engages you in the story while it enlightens you about the journey. That is, with the typical business book, you¿re hoping up to pick up a few gems to run your business more effectively, reap better results, or ratchet up your career a few notches. But here, you find yourself actually rooting for the hero¿and hoping that he makes the best personal decisions as well as business decisions. Bingo¿for you and the hero. Hutson and Blanchard give solid business principles here, plus guidelines for acting with personal integrity and building relationships through networking. Good balance between story and principles. Highly recommended.

The One Minute Entrepreneur: The Secret to Creating and Sustaining a Successful Business works because Ken Blanchard is a master storyteller. The principles presented to become a successful entrepreneur are basic and pretty obvious: sales must exceed expenses, you must collect bills, take care of your customers, and take care of your employees. Chances are, you already know this. But the beauty of the book--indeed, what will probably make the book another classic--is that most of it is told in story form. Stories are more concrete than mere facts we read a good story with strong imagery and feel the lessons being taught. It is like very good fiction. Great fiction draws us into another world and we literally see and identify with the characters and plot. So it is with The One Minute Entrepreneur--the concepts that will make us successful entrepreneurs come alive when reading this little, but important , book. This is a great book for those wanting to start their own business or work for a company that encourages their employees to think like an entrepreneur. I truly enjoyed the story and the lessons it taught.

I don't usually read self-help books, but this book was written in a story format and really spoke to me. I found it entertaining and incredibly helpful. I would highly recommend to anyone who is or is thinking about being an Entrepreneur

If you go to the website for this book, they will do everything possible to sign you up for his 'plan'. The book may be good, but the company is out for your money and care little about the principles he preaches.
