Pajama Time! is a good-night book with the irrepressible language, the inimitable illustrations, the irresistible cast of characters only Sandra Boynton could create.

A jump-roping chicken and a pig on a swing. A Scottie in plaid pajamas and an elephant in a fuzzy one-piece with feet. And in sing-along nuttiness reminiscent of Barnyard Dance!, it's time to head to bed-to the beat: Pajammy to the left. Pajammy to the right. Jamma jamma jamma jamma P!J! Everybody's wearing them for dancing tonight. Jamma jamma jamma jamma P!J!

Oversized lap edition also available—perfect for reading aloud!

About the Author

Sandra Boynton is a beloved American cartoonist, children’s author, songwriter, and highly sporadic short film director. Boynton has written and illustrated sixty children’s books and seven general audience books, including five New York Times bestsellers. More than 70 million of her books have been sold—“mostly to friends and family,” she says. Boynton has also written and produced six albums of unconventional children’s music; three of her albums have been certified Gold (over 500,000 copies sold), and Philadelphia Chickens, nominated for a Grammy, has gone Platinum (over one million copies sold). Boynton has also written and directed eleven short musical films and two animated shorts, including “Tyrannosaurus Funk,” sung by Samuel L. Jackson, which won the 2018 Grand Prize for Best Children’s Animation Short from the Rhode Island International Film Festival. In 2008, Boynton received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the National Cartoonists Society. Boynton has four perfect children and an equally perfect granddaughter. Her Connecticut studio is in a converted barn that has perhaps the only hippopotamus weathervane in America.

I love to read this to my daughter at bedtime. She loves to see the different animals and the pajamas they wear. Our whole family knows it by heart and often "sing" it when getting my daughter in her p.j.s

Sandra Boynton has quite a collection of wonderful children's books, but this one is definitely one of her best. Of course, it's most effective at bedtime, so get ready for a soundly sleeping child. Rhythm and rhyme galore makes this one fun story. Her illustrations are first-rate (and adorable).

This is a great book for toddlers as they prepare for bedtime. It's not too long, very colorful and turning the pages is easy for little fingers.

My 9 month old adores this book. The rhymes are great and the illustrations are wonderful. This is the best of the Boynton books so far.

I love Sandra Boynton! She has made an art out of the board book form. Often, that book format is comprised of adaptations from picture books or books that focus on simple concept ideas. Boynton creates stories, unique to this form, that are not just of interest because of concept or illustration, but are well written. In this story, she wrote a sing song chant to accompany getting ready for bed; in particular, getting dressed in our jammies. The story is silly, but it is meant to be, an absurd rhyme that is fun and lilting. Her illustrations are goofy, bright, and fun, which are the perfect accompaniment to the story. My daughters love this book, they really do, which is the joint effect of the quality of the book and how much their parents like it. We have read and sung it to them many a night. I highly recommend any book written by Boynton.

Jamma Jamma Jamma Jamma P! J!This is a good, short (somewhat active) story about going to bed. Not so great as the last bedtime story, but wonderful as the first, very bouncy and happy.

I can't get the song into my head, but this book can be sung, always a bonus.

A good rhythmic rhyming book, fun to read aloud at bedtime. Also a good way to tell the kids it's time for pyjamas, without having to nag! We read this so often we had it memorized, and our toddlers loved it dearly. In 2002 Boynton set this story to music, and included it in the Philadelphia Chickens book and CD recording. Good fun!

Excellent bedtime book. Toddler age child loves the moon cutout on the cover. You can read with an excited voice at first describing the pajamas, then get softer at the end when the characters all go to sleep. Cute illustrations.

A perfect book to have handy while getting dressed for bed. It gets my daughter to sit still and enjoy the process. She even dances to the sing-song words of the story.

My 3-year old loves this book, as well as all the other Boynton books. We start singing the PJ song as she gets ready for bed.
