Overview

Until the release of her debut album, Paris Hilton had been famous merely for her overzealous partying and scandalous sex tape. But with the release of Paris, the heiress to the Hilton family fortune and The Simple Life star proves she can do more than flip her blonde locks and mumble "That's hot." The reggae-light lead single, "Stars Are Blind" -- produced by Scott Storch -- recalls Blondie and Gwen Stefani. Now, that is hot.

When I first heard she was making an album, I was like, "Let's see how long that lasts..." But now I OWN the album! I like tracks 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, and 10. Most of the album is sexy, irreverent, but oh so enjoyable! A lot of people don't like the album because they either don't like Paris, or don't like the way she whisper-sings. My faves are "Turn It Up and "Turn You On"

Whoever says she is stupid or has a bad voice is either incredibly Stupid, or has no taste in good music at all!!!! Right on paris i can't wait for your next album!!!

Who would have thought that Paris Hilton could sing?! She should stick to producing awesome music and not lame reality shows! I love the R&B influence in "Turn it Up" and Paris' sexy voice in "Fightin' over me" and "Heartbeat." I think all the songs are hot, hot, hot! There is only one thing hotter and that's Ms. Paris Hilton! You go gurl!

I love this CD. Paris may not be a saint but man, SHE CAN SING! I give props to Paris for not just living off daddy!

lest you think i'm mad, i actually am a classically trained musician and i've got to say it's refreshing to listen to an album that's so devoid of pretense. and thank god that it will never make it to any womyns' music festival. there is nothing to deconstruct, nothing to subject to any postmodern feminist theory type of analysis. helene cisoux fans can go choke on this.

Everyone needs to give the girl a break. If this had been any other person, or someone you had never heard of, all the nay-sayers would love this album, but because it's Paris Hilton, they prejudge it and then say it's complete garbage. I happen to love this album, I think it's an awesome mix of dance/club songs and I really enjoy it. So give Paris a break, open your mind to this cd, and you'll probably enjoy it.

everyone have been saying that pparis hiltons album will be rubish, that she cant sing and has no talent. but her album is great. the songs stars are blind, turn it up and screwed are very catchy and i also love the song jelousy. this album is worth buying, no matter what anyone says about it. listen to it and you will see that she isnt that bad at singing at all

mcuh as i don't like paris hilton, i was still suprised that this cd is actually decent. it's defiinatley not the best, but not the worst either.

Honestly, this is not all that bad. For a party girl that is WAY overexposed, I must say that she did turn out a decent club album. When listening to the tracks, all I can think of is a club scene...and I do believe that is what she was aiming for. Still not something I am all for buying myself, but I know a few people who will like it. I applaude Miss Hilton's attempt at music, and she did not do all that bad.

Why does every little rich girl think they can sing. This CD is horrible, average, cliche trash. Spend your money, elsewhere. The album is just another publicity stunt for a girl who never deserved that much attention anyway. Want good pop music, see below.

Anyone can put on a little blonde wig and prance around in their underwear...!!! And if you haven't heard this cd yet, GOOD. it will save you from having sleepless night like me. Not only is the background music horrible, the singing is even worse!!! All she does is whisper the whole time, trying to cover up her horrible voice!!!! I HATE PARIS HILTON!!!!!!! DO NOT BUY THIS CD!!!!!!!!!

i dont care what people say about paris, i love this album so much. It's nothing serious, its just fun. plain and simple! The lyrics are silly, and the songs are just right to sing along and dance in your car too!!

If breathy Mairlyn Munroe is still hot.. well I suppose she has something. She is not a serious musician though...in my opinion. Nothing creative, fresh or new.

Her voice is so breathy and without intonation, I can't figure out what she's saying half the time. It doesn't sound like she actually prounces the words of the lyrics. And is it just me, or did she lose her blue contact lenses and go for the brown-eyed look on the CD photo?

I had to listen to this CD 4 times before buying but it was worth it. I like "Turn It Up", Fighting Over Me, Stars Are Blind, Nothing In This World, Heartbeat and Turn You On. Paris could have a future but this album is a step she needs 4 or 5. She needs work but the album isn't bad although I still think she's a shallow bimbo dumb heiress whose never going to be taken seriously. Seriously Paris take a damn break!!!!!

I was watching VH1 and saw Paris Hilton's "Stars are Blind" video come on and it caught my attention. The name & lyrics included are quite corny and most likely wouldnt be used in a Hallmark greeting card but as for the beat and all around "goodness" of the song...I was stunned to find myself hooked to it. I would recommend this song to anyone (considering her whole cd hasn't been released yet). I give her props.

This is the worst CD I have ever heard...I'm sorry Paris, this is hideous. It causes global depression.

I would recommend this cd. I like Paris Hilton and this cd is not as bad as most people say. So if your a fan of Paris, I'm sure you will enjoy her cd too!

This girl does not know how to sing - if that's your idea of unpretentious so be it. Were it up to me I would take "Stars are Blind" (which is catchy, has an lazy, "island" feel which works well with her soft tease of a voice), "Screwed", and "Do Ya Think I'm Sexy" and scrap the rest of this album. The latter cover of Rod Stewart needs to be redone, sounds too much like the original, please use a little imagination. Bottom line: except for "Stars are Blind" this is a forgettable album no matter what your tastes are. PS - if you think payola is dead in the music industry just try to fathom the review by All Music Guide. That's an embaressment.

god, this is just another sign that the end is near. i applaud paris for trying to actually do something with her life and not just party and all. but sadly, miss hilton is not cut out for music.

Okay... so I liked Stars Are Blind. I downloaded the rest of the CD thinking it was going to be just as catchy, but I was really disappointed. I don't care if it was Paris Hilton... I really don't. I think that maybe she should just keep being a beautiful heiress with skeleton's in her closet and stay away from being a music artist.

THIS IS A AWFUL ALBUM!!!!!!!!!! OH WELL SHE TRIED!!
Guest More than 1 year ago
Are you kidding me? Her voice is average but i listen to her songs and i just feel like she's taking lyrics from other songs, changing them just slightly, then throwing them together in a song. And the background music? It just sounds like standard song a regular keyboard has programmed into it. I wouldnt waste my money on this CD. People just like this CD because they like Paris Hilton, not because her music is good
