Blockhead. Crabby psychiatric help. Trusty security blanket. The world's "losing-est" baseball team. The World War I Flying Ace. It can only be good ol' Charlie Brown and the gang! A must-have for every Peanuts fan, the Peanuts Treasury brings together more than six hundred of Charles Schulz's favorite Peanuts cartoons. For fifty years, Schulz drew every line and lettered every dialogue bubble of the comic that cartoonist Garry Trudeau has called "the uncontested gold standard for comics". Generations have enjoyed spending time with the characters of this beloved comic strip, which has become an intrinsic part of the American culture. We know their names, and we share their sentiments. So come join Charlie Brown, Snoopy, Lucy, Linus, Schroeder, Peppermint Patty, and our other friends as they swat at baseballs, fight with kite-eating trees, and philosophize in the pumpkin patch. The Peanuts Treasury will delight and entertain as it offers the Peanuts gang's most memorable encounters with existence and the valuable lessons they learn through wit, humor, and heart.

I never really liked Peanuts when I was a kid, but my appreciation of Schulz's greatness steadily grows with age.

Great price, and a must have for any Peanuts lover's coffee table. An excellent gift choice for those unfamiliar with Charles Schulz's classic creation. Charlie Brown, Snoopy, Linus and Lucy, how could we do without them?

Every age has their icons and Peanuts touched a world of people. Like Esops fables, Shultz exposed mankind's fears and egos, proving to us, that no matter how isolated we feel, self absorbed in our problems, we all share in lifes woes together. Inspiring us to laugh at Peanut, Charlie Brown, Lucy and all the others, we were really laughing at ourselves.

This 'best of the best' collection was originally published in 1968, and includes strips from 1959-1967. If you have ALL of the reprint books that covered those years, you might not need it, but if there are any gaps in your collection, this is great. Has most of the best storylines of those years (Snoopy's house threatened by an icicle....and by a freeway....and burning down....Lucy buries Linus's blanket....the birth of Sally...the Mad Punter, etc.) so you might want it even if you DO have the individual books, just for its nice oversized hard cover and convenience of format. Great price! Bless b&n's little hearts for reprinting it!
