SYLVIA S. MARANTZ was a school librarian for nearly 30 years./e She is a picture book columnist for Library Talk and regularly reviews books for School Library Journal and Five Owls. With art educator Kenneth Marantz, she is the coauthor of The Art of Children's Picture Books: A Selective Reference Guide and Artists of the Page: Interviews with Children's Book Illustrators. She is a library volunteer and gives workshops and presentations on the art of the picture book.
