ABOUT THE AUTHORS

Pennel P. Irwin

Writer, journalist, editor, historian and educator, Pennel P. Irwin earned a Bachelor of Arts in history from California State University, Sacramento, where he also did graduate studies in teacher education to attain his teaching certification in history, mathematics, science and vocational electronics. He also held an Associate Science degree in engineering to back up over a decade of work as an associate electronics engineer in naval communication electronics.

As a versatile and multi talented writer for over a quarter century, his background in addition to novels has been as a producer/scriptwriter for a local cable television show (Color Me Country). A advertising agency's head copywriter, a general assignment 'beat' newspaper reporter, and as both a newspaper managing editor and trade magazine associate editor. He has several copyrighted articles as a result, that include I, the Jury; For a Hundred Years, Mary Bayes and Homilies to the Service.
When he was not working at his writing compound residence shared with first-reader-and-agent-and-wife-of-31-years Barbara in farming country east of Lodi, California, this professional writer of 25 years taught high school courses in social studies, mathematics and science to incarcerated delinquent youths in Stockton, California.

Up to the time of his death June 24,1998, this writer has completed five novels: the literary novel "Poppy," two science fiction novels "Trappers" and "Positively People," the contemporary novel "Forever Three Friday," and the pre history novel "At One" the first in 'The First Origin Trilogy'.

Pen (Lanny) takes us back to both he and my childhood sixty years ago with our Great-Grandfather ‘Poppy’.
Though he has changed the names of the characters slightly (my middle name is John, and my sister’s middle name is Louise and so on and his Uncle’s Henry and so on) ostensibly it was the summer that Pen ‘came of age’ and from the innocent young boy to the youth of a young man, experiencing the first close human’s passing and the nature of things around him.

Pen has always loved Science Fiction and 'pen'ed "Trappers" and "Positively People," and this novel now published for those Sci-Fi lovers, so...enjoy.
