PreS-Gr 2-Jazzy, a young lemur, is playing hide-and-seek with her mother. With the help of the neighboring animals, Jojo looks high and low in the trees and flowers before finding her little one. The charm of this book lies in its repetitive text. Over and over, the mother calls, and although she receives no answer, there is never a doubt that Jazzy will be found. Clever cut-paper artwork conveys the layered look of a jungle, through which various animals' eyes shine. The dark green backgrounds, vibrant colors, and chunky black-outlined forms create a visual treat, and the book's large yet trim format make it a natural for story time. A solid choice for school, library, or home purchase for those youngsters who like the sense that they too can "read" a story.
