I bought nook hd+ on 2013. After 8 months,  i was not able to charge my nook using the adapter. I thought there would be some problem  with adapter. But there was no problem with adapter, because when i connect it through  the cable to my laptop, it was not  working.  So i decided that there was a problem with cable.and bought another set of cable and adapter. (In store, they are not selling the cable alone,  so i had to pay for the adapter itself). I bought the power kit on Mar 2014. Two weeks back, again the charging cable is started giving the same problem. I called customer service  and explained and asked for replacement. They gave me two options. 1. to walkin to shop where i bought and ask for replacement  2. They can provide the details of shops, where you can directly go and purchase the same.Definitely the first option is ruled out,  because in shop, they simply told that we won't do the i tried to purchase the new one, from them. But no stock. i checked other shops, but none of them having stock. Now  my nook is become useless. If Barnes and Noble wants to serve/help the customer,  better have the accessories enough  or providing option  in their product to use alternate cables or Better not to manufacture  such kind of devices.

After reading reviews and trying to purchase a charging cable for two nook HD's I am really beginning to think there is a flaw with the charging of these devices, and B&N needs to replace the Nooks with a working model free of charge or a very small replacement fee. This is crazy that we have not been able to use or devices since July because we are unable to charge them!!!

Today I went to a B&N Bookstore in hopes of finding a charger for my tablet (NOOK). No such luck. And I was told they didn't have them on line either. That I was probably just out of luck. Out of luck!!!! After two years you take $249.00 plus tax for a product that want charge and I'm just suppose throw it in the trash. All the books, games, and data you overcharge us for is just trashed ?Like others who have written reviews I WILL NEVER, EVER, BUY ANOTHER BARNES AND NOBLE PRODUCT.

Wow, I should have read these reviews before purchasing the Nook HD.  Same problem with the charger after only 5 months.  No chargers  in B&N, and  though I tried in 7 different places, no one else carries Nook products.  I have so many books its a shame to go to Kindle, but I bought it for reading and I can't read with it this way.

Now you can only get the cable in stores..... Too bad there isn't one available within 100 miles of my location. I will not ever buy another one of these devices ever..... I currently have 4.

These cables only work with the HD's, can't be substituted by any generic cable, and they break so easily. This is the 3rd one I've bought since I got my HD+ 1.5 yrs ago. If the tablet happens to slide off a table while charging, the cord bends at the insert plug. My daughter's cord got bent just by falling on the floor by itself, not even connected to the tablet.

Horrible!!!! after owning my Nook HD for 1 year my charger broke. The stores do not carry it and it is not available online. I called customer service and they just said to call back from time to time to see if it's available. Worthless joke of a company. Will NEVER buy Nook again! I should have paid more for a kindle fire!!!

I bought a nook hd in 2013. Not even a year went by and the charging cable stopped working. I have called numerous times for a replacement cable since my nook is under warranty. B&N has yet to have any in stock. It's been months since I've been able to use my nook. I found a replacement cable in another state where my mom could get it for me but I would have to pay. Why should I pay for a replacement cable that's under warranty and a B&N issue? Not happy with the customer service. Should have purchased a Kindle!

I wish I had known that the cable would break easily and CANNOT find a replacement cable any place.

The Nook company has to be out of their minds.  I drove a lot of miles to the only Barnes and Noble around me for a replacement charger for my daughter's Nook HD+.  THEY DON'T CARRY ANYTHING NOOK HD+.  The very unhelpful people at the desk told me to go to Target  or go online.  Went to Target.  Target hasn't had anything Nook for months.  How ridiculously irresponsible is this whole situation with Barnes and Noble and Nook.  How hard can it be to supply stores with chargers.  I don't usually post complaints, but am extremely unhappy and exhausted from looking all over northern Lake County Illinois and being given the runaround.  Nobody takes responsibility anymore.  Extremely disappointed.

I'm having thhe same problem with the charger cable that all the other reviewwrs are having! Has anybody from Barnes and Nobel ever responded to the reviews? Extremely poor business practice. I'd like some sort of response to

I love my HD plus but I hate the charging cable I've had the HD plus for a year and have purchased over 15 cables for it and now they don't sell them because they stopped making them I called the 800the book and sure enough they have a replacement cable for $12.95. Why do I have to keep paying for this cable if they had made it correctly to begin with I wouldn't have to keep buying them. Unfortunately Barnes and Noble doesn't feel responsible enough to their customers to make a product that works, though they brag about being the number one seller (of what I'm unsure). I do know that the new Samsung will not be something I will purchase even though I have roughly 50 games on my HD plus I'd rather repurchase them for my asus than buy another Barnes and Noble product seeing how they have no compassion for their customers all they want is your money once they have it then you can forget about getting any help from them..

Great product when it worked. Less than a year old and already having battery and charging issues.  Have to fiddle with it to start charging then walk on tip toes when you pass it so it continues to charge. What is B&N answer? Drop the product and give it to Samsung, GREAT MOVE except they abandon their current customers. No fix, no replacements. The only good move I made was to purchase the warranty. Wish there was an alternative to having to resort purchasing another tablet. The cable is out of stock in stores and online. Ha - while writing this found out a college also HAD a Nook HD+ with the EXACT same issues. Wish they had better support.

I'm very uncertain on what to do now because my NOOK won't charge with the charger that came with my NOOk. Up untl a week ago I was very happy with the NOOK and recommending it to all my friends. I'm sorry about Barnes & Noble. But they should be upfront and discard or discontinue their NOOK totally. They are unable as a store or seller to keep their product up to date. They should offer to the owners some deep discount to replace a product THEY are unable to keep up. IT"S A CHARGER we are talking about. My cell phone charger worked 2 times in charging the NOOK. I was so happy. Unfortunately, didn't do it a 3rd time. In Xmas I purchased several books for the NOOK. Guess what. I have some pretty good money invested there. Well, I'm going to the store and ask for all that money back. Two weeks ago, I saw their tablet and was so tempted. Because of Xmas I had to be conservative, and was going to wait for February to get the Tablet. Guess where I'm not going to get it. And it's so bad. I love my only remaining Book Store, B&N should be more careful of how they treat their faithful customers.

Like the other reviews,  finding a replacement for the cable or the wall adapter is impossiable.  I had to purchase a different kind so I could charge my nook.  And now that they BN nolonger sales the HD+ tablets we will really have no place to turn to when in need.  Is'nt that a good one, now they want us to trust that this might not happen with the new one's, doubt it.  They will upgrade again and leave us out in the cold again.

Same, same, love my HD but experiencing difficulty getting it to charge. I am a long way from a store find getting support from BandN almost impossible. The Barnes and Noble website is the slowest and most frustrating site to navigate on their own product.

I just ordered this cable so I don't even know if it will work or not, but all of a sudden the other day, my nook would not charge at all.  If I wiggle the cord it would show up as a green light and then just blink out.  I am really nervous now because I am reading of all of these customers with the same issues I am having.  I was sooo happy when I got this for my birthday last year.  My wife has a kindle but I wanted a nook but now hearing about all the charging problems wish I would have gotten a kindle fire.  I wish Barnes and Noble would step up and back this supposedly wonderful product.

Did anyone bother to purchase the lifetime warranty. It is definitely worth it. I am on my 4th Nook. I upgraded from the original black and white Nook to Nook HD. Yes, there was a difference to pay for the upgrade but not much. I did have a problem with charging so I took it back to B&N and got a brand new one for free. Even swap. Again, bought the warranty. I loved my HD, then I dropped it and cracked the corner and started having problems with it. When I took it back to swap it out, they no longer made HD and I got the Nook Color. I have had this one for two years now and love it. I am debating on whether or not to upgrade again. I will never buy anything but Nook. Just saying, spending a little extra money on the warranty would have kept you all from having these hassles.

I can't find a charger anywhere and have been buying books that clutter up my house. Let's make this item more available in store and on line. they are small and get misplaced, lost or broken easy. HELP....Don't want to turn pages anymore

After reading all these negative comments, I sort of feel cheated!  Still using my original charging cord, which still works fine.  I bought my HD+ when it first came out.  Have purchased another charger for my car, and it, too, is still operative. My main complaint is that they changed cords.  My prvious tablet was able to charge using the same cable and charger as my phone.  This is not the case any more, and that is my major complaint.  The uniqueness of the charging system.

I wanted an extra Nook HD charger car.  The store said they dont sell in stores to order on line.  I read the bad reviews about not being able to charge their nooks, but i ordered 2 cables any way.  Neither worked!  I called customer service and they sent me 2 that worked.  But a note to some-the charger does not work in some USB adapters.  My small white iphone adapter doesnt work on any of my charging cables. It works only on a big rectangular one.  There is s 2 year warranty on the nook, so Turn it in if it isnt working.

You have a serious issue here. You CAN'T buy them in the store. The store CAN'T order them for me. My wife is pissed. She said if we can't buy a replacement cable, it makes me not want to buy anther Nook product. You have a serious credibility issue here whether you know it or not.

Very disappointed that I can't pick up a charger. I purchased the Nook because it was available at Wal-Mart and we don't have a barnes and noble within 75 miles. This is going to cost me extra to purchase including shipping. I will not be buying your products anylonger. If I have to order on line I might as well go with Kindle.

trying to get this charger replaced is such a headache. I call they tell me to go in store. I go in store they tell me to go online. I would give this charger 0 stars if possible because this is my third time replacing it and I'm told the charger has a 1 year warranty but they don't seem to honor that
