Adele E. Clarke is Associate Professor of Sociology and History of Health Sciences at the University of California, San Francisco. She is author of Disciplining Reproduction: American Life Scientists and the "Problem of Sex" (1998) and co-edited Women's Health: Complexities and Differences (1997) with Virginia L.
