"Children will enjoy the lively verse and exuberant artwork." — School Library Journal

Have you ever wondered what the dinosaurs did for fun? What really happened when the Jurassic gang wanted to let off some steam? They danced, of course! They rocked and rolled, they twirled and tromped! They had themselves a Dinosaur Stomp! With illustrations by Scott Nash that leap off the page like a raptor doing the fandango, Carol Diggory Shields tells dinosaur devotees all about reptilian revelry in verses with a foot-tapping, tail-whacking beat.

Very lively yet educational book. Really engages the child and is great for use with groups of children. Encourages participation with the fun, rhythmic nature of the text, and the illustrations are a feast for the eyes.

My son is very musical and is not the most attentive with stories at 3 years old, but this book has him giggling and "reading" along every time. I love the rhythm of the story and how he gets to learn about different dinosaur names while we read. Even though this book gets him excited, it's still a great bedtime book for us since the dinosaurs all wind down at the end. The colorful characters and easy rhythm makes this a good choice for babies through preschoolers.

I love this book. I read it a lot to my preschool class. It has great rythmic timing. I am not sure if it is still available, but I had the book on tape. It had a great tune to it, and the class would dance and play instruments to it. I highly recommend this book!

My kids love this book! The toddler carries it everywhere with him; the preschooler tries to recite the rhymes; and the 1st grader loves it because she can read it to her brothers! Even with the simple story, this book was recently voted #1 by the entire student body at our neighborhood elementary school. We especially enjoy the anklyosaurus drumming on his hard shelled back, 'Boomalacka! Boomalacka! Whack! Whack! Whack!'
