About the Author

Bestselling Author Julia Kent writes romantic comedy with an edge. From billionaires to BBWs to new adult rock stars, Julia finds a sensual, goofy joy in every contemporary romance she writes. Unlike Shannon from Shopping for a Billionaire, she did not meet her husband after dropping her phone in a men's room toilet (and he isn't a billionaire).

She lives in New England with her husband and three children in a household where the toilet seat is never, ever, down.

Very different writing style that will hold your attention throughtout this short book. Not filled with alot of sex but definitely the tension is there along with an unbeleivable story. One you'll forgive the author for because you're enjoying reading.

Why, oh why did I take so long to start this story? I think my family started thinking I was auditioning to do some pig movie dubbing with all the snorting happening. The first book in the Shopping for a Billionaire series starts the story of Shannon, a quirky and funny mystery shopper who catches the interest of super-hot and almost billionaire Declan. From their very beginning, things start off in the most unlikely of ways. And although nothing seems to go right for either of them with one hilarious mishap and absurd situation after another, their attraction and chemistry prevail. With a loving but totally OTT mother, a crazy best friend, a snarky sister/roommate and the cat version of the antichrist, Shannon leads a somewhat quiet life. After a relationship that left her filled with insecurities, she’s not in the market for a man. Any man. Even the hot suit guy she sees coming into the coffee shop she’s evaluating. And considering he ends up saving her from flushing her arm down a men’s bathroom toilet, he would be the last man in her mind… even if he is the hottest and sexiest guy she’s ever seen. So when Declan not only ends up being a new client for the company she works at but also asks her out on a date, to say she is flabbergasted is putting it mildly. I loved Shannon, she had me laughing my butt off with her inner monologue and her life in general. Her family, friends and co-workers layered the story with numerous levels of hilariousness and absurdity. I must admit that I’m not fond of an insecure heroine for my stories, but she won me over with her personality. Also, where she is coming from is understandable as we learn a bit more about her ex. I wish we’ve had a little of Declan’s PoV. He is charming and smart, quite bossy and utterly hot. He seems delighted with Shannon’s artless ways but I’m hoping we’ll get some peek into his mind sometime in the future. Shannon and Declan’s chemistry is off the charts hot, magnetic and ensnaring. The story caught me from the very first page to the last and I’m jumping right into the next installment. Shopping for a Billionaire is a funny, sexy and sweet romance that will have you either laughing, snorting or smiling. With hot kisses, obnoxious exes, crazy shenanigans galore, I see good things in my reading future. This is part 1 of a 4 part story. There's a collection now with the 4 books together. *I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book*

I love this book. It is super hilarious. Julia Kent’s humor reminds me of Dane Cook’s. It had me laughing so hard my sides hurt. I can’t wait to read what happens next with Shannon and Declan. Shannon and Declan meet in the most terribly embarrassing way. He finds her in the bathroom stall with her hand down the toilet trying to fish out her phone. Mortified by the whole experience and unable to tell the truth about why he found her there Shannon escapes as quickly as possible. Declan is left standing there wondering about the beautiful and mysterious toilet girl. Chance has them meeting again in another awkward encounter and Declan decides he’s not going to let Shannon get away. It’ll be tricky but he’ll find a way to persuade her to have dinner with him. *This story does end in cliffhanger but you don’t have to wait for the next books to come out and there is also a boxset available for books 1-5.

AWFUL! When all she was doing was thinking of sex, I didn't want to read about her doing what she was thinking about.
