Gerald Wright works for billionaires. He never imagined he'd become one.

The former Navy Seal is a chauffeur by day, artist by night, so when hotter-than-ever ex-fiancée Suzanne Dayton interrupts his nude model sculpting class to serve him with inheritance paperwork from a man he's never heard of, he assumes it's a joke.

Turns out the joke's on him. There's just one catch. A big one.

And it might be Suzanne -- in more ways than he ever dreamed.

Shopping for an Heir is the 10th book in the New York Times bestselling Shopping for a Billionaire series by Julia Kent. It features many favorite characters from the Shopping series, including Declan McCormick himself as Gerald's class model ;)

This was a quick read. Kind of rushed. Could have been longer which would have been better. I could have done without the Trump comments. Reading is my escape from reality, I don't need real life intrusions.

There is a depth to this latest book, combining the Inheritance series and Shopping series, not readily seen in other books by Ms Kent...not only is a very real and devastating issue of PTSD addressed, but there is a deeper layer of intensity than previously written in the Shopping series. Yes the wackiness of Marie pops up...was anyone else cheering as I did when Gerald literally removed her from his class?...Ms Kent's trademark witty banter and dialog, along with the humorous under currents of the cast of characters from the Shopping series...Agnes!!...are all present, but Gerald and Suzanne's relationship had an intenseness to it than any of the other character couples. Perhaps it was their shared history in the military, but they definitely were completely unique to previous characters I've read from this author. Ms Kent has once again demonstrated her talent as a storyteller through her ability to draw the reader into the story from the beginning, not releasing that grasped until the very end. Overall the story is multileveled, the premise intriguing, and the characters entertaining...the emotional investment of previous characters is added to by Gerald and Suzanne, with newer, revisiting characters making a more prominent appearance, Vince needs his own story...would love to see James and Pam expanded upon. I'm looking forward to what's up next in the Shopping series. This book was provided by the author for my honest review.

I love all of the books by this author. This a nice short story that introduces secondary character. I love the character development, although its a short story you learn a lot about the characters and what they have had to overcome.

Not my type of book - I disliked the profanity and other things so much I deleted it and the other two books which are part of this series permanently from my Nook.

Loved it I have read books in the series and each one is terrific. Suzanne & Gerald were together 10 years before while they were in the military. They were going to get married. Then he broke it off. Now she is the attorney in charge of notification of heirs, and Gerald is to receive one. Can they find their love again.

Another fun read from Julia Kent/ Shopping for for an Heir by Julia Kent was was yet another hilarious ride through the world of billionaires and their girlfriends. This one was a bit more serious with the issues which it dealt with, it wasn’t all doom and gloom with a totally brooding hero. Gerald, a former Seal now turned chauffeur by day, sculptor by night hasn’t seen his ex-fiancee crashed back into his life. He hasn’t seen her for a decade and now she’s in his life with inheritance papers. But, even though they haven’t been together in years the old embers of attraction don’t take long to burst into flames. There were some serious issues dealt with in this tenth book of the series, but we still got a lighthearted fun filled story to while away a lazy, rainy afternoon.

Gerald Wright is a chauffeur by day, artist by night. Gerald works for billionaires. He has found a normal life until his hotter-than-ever ex-fiancée Suzanne Dayton interrupts his nude model sculpting class to serve him with inheritance paperwork from a man he’s never heard of, he assumes it’s a joke. How wrong he is! This is real and comes with a big headache. I really love Julia Kent's characters and she always pulls me into the characters' lives and I love every minute of it. This book is for anyone who loves romance. It's a little spicy but not to bad so 17+ will be just fine. I enjoyed this book but it's not as funny as the rest of the Shopping series. Don't get me wrong there is several laughing moments but just not as many as the other books in this series. I give this book a 4 because I really enjoyed the story and the writing. I really enjoyed the narrator. His voice is dreamy!

As I finished reading this book I find myself still chuckling at some of the things I just read. I have read some of Julia Kent's books and have enjoyed all of them. Ms Kent has a real talent for romantic comedy. This story line is almost a lost and found type of book. This book is part of the shopping series so if you have read any of the books you might recognize a character from another book. I really enjoyed this book. I look forward to the next book in this series. I Highly Recommend this book. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Julia Kent has written another hysterical romance with some serious moments but yet again you are smiling and laughing throughout the entire book! I just love the way Julia writes and the realistic tone. You can really connect with her characters every single time! I can’t wait to see what’s next! *I voluntarily reviewed a digital review copy of this book *

In true Julia Kent fashion, this book had me cracking up from the very first chapter :D But you will find so much more than the typical for the author humour. The story is kind of a second chance romance with a healthy dose of fun, sprinkled with mystery and topped with some hotness :) Gerald and Suzanne are quite the interesting couple. Due to their past, there issues with trust, heartbreak and abandonment (mainly from Suzanne's side) that keep them from giving their relationship a second chance. The terror they lived through, while in the military, left them with scars that kept them from really living before their first meeting after finally coming home. Their journey towards each other is full of difficulties but they manage to find the way to their hearts. But nothing is ever easy. And danger follows them around every corner. And when you add to that the mystery of an ancient artefact, things can get quite confusing and difficult but definitely interesting for the reader :) So, to summarise, I quite enjoyed reading this story. It wasn't as full of humour as some of Julia Kent's other stories but it was still an interesting read, a beautiful story of second chances. This is the first time I've read anything by the author, and it an overall good story about second chances at love. Right when the story starts we get to meet Gerald Wright, a former Navy Seal whose daytime job is as a chauffeur for billionaires, and an artist by night. His jobs has taken him to a lot of places, but when he met Suzanne Dayton his life changed. They got engaged soon after, but that did not last long before he called it off. Leaving without letting her know how he really felt has tormented him for a very long time. After being in the Navy, he saw a lot of things that mentally destroyed him, and he needed to find a way to let her go without bring her down. Now, years later he finds himself at his art class when his ex-fiancee shows up to serve him with inheritance paperwork from a man he's never heard of before. He thinks it's a joke, but takes it as a sign that maybe he still has a chance to be with the woman that he loves once again. It's up to Gerald now to convince Suzanne that they can still have a happily ever after if they let the past go. I really enjoyed reading the book, it's hilarious and sweet. The plot itself had it's twists and turns, but it wasn't exciting to me. I was expecting so much more from this book, the pace was inconsistent, but at the end the characters really had me rooting for them as a couple. There are secondary characters that really helped the story a lot, they made it funny and I enjoyed reading those scenes the most. In the story, Gerald has to come to terms with his past, and by spending time with Suzanne things get a lot better for him. The duel point-of-view helps us understand both characters more as they go to the next step in their lives. Overall, it was good story with a solid ending. I will most definitely keep reading from the author in the future. :) ***ARC provided in exchange for an honest review.***

This was my first Julia Kent book, and thus my first in the Shopping for a Billionaire series, and now I really want to read the rest! Gerald is a bodyguard for an important billionaire executive, as well as an art teacher at a local college. We first meet him just before a sculpting class begins and he is meeting two elderly ladies in their 90s, Agnes and Corrine, who are hilarious with their banter and general antics. Eventually, we also meet Suzanne, who is a partner at an esteemed Boston law firm and Gerald's ex-fiancee who served with him a decade before in Afghanistan. And who is about to serve him with some papers about an inheritance. This book is FUNNY. I found myself laughing from basically the very first page and then several times throughout! Laughing out loud was something I literally kept doing (fortunately, I was in a dark room while everyone else was sleeping, so nobody thought I was crazy. ;) ) But this book isn't just funny, it also has heart. I especially enjoyed how Julia Kent handled PTSD of war veterans in this. It isn't too heavy-handed, but still real. Everything in this is kept mostly lighthearted and fun. This is a second-chance romance involving two very strong characters, and will keep you smiling! I received a digital ARC from the publisher for an honest, unbiased review. This in no way influenced my review. My opinion is my 100% own.

Didn't want this to end! I am a huge fan of Julia's Shopping series. I've really enjoyed reading about Gerald over time. It was great to see him get his own story. I really hope to be seeing Gerald and Suzanne's story continue within the Shopping Series.

LOVED this book! Fun and funny with moments that made me literally laugh out loud. This is a wonderful series that always makes me smile. I especially enjoyed learning Gerald's story in the book. He's been a steady fixture in this series, but I never thought about his back story and it was delightful and so much better than anything that I ever could have imagined. This is a must read for fans of the genre. While it is part of a series, it is a stand alone novel, however, the series is so good that you really owe it to yourself to read them all.

This book can certainly be read as a standalone but you will truly be missing out on some hilarious reading if you skip the rest of the series. Gerald has always been in the background of this series, driving the men of Anterdec anywhere they need to go. Suddenly, he's informed that he could make millions of dollars off his inheritance from a man he's never met. As if that isn't shock enough, the papers are delivered by Gerald's former fiancee, who he left 10 years ago. Suzanne is determined to serve these papers and then have this case reassigned. She's never gotten over her anger and heartbreak that Gerald caused when he ended their relationship. I laughed so hard reading this book that I had trouble reading the words. There are so many cameos by characters that I have loved in this series and when the Shopping characters show up, hilarity ensues. While there was a ton a humor, there was also a bit of angst that made you pull for these characters. I'm looking forward to seeing these two in future books in the series!!! *I received a copy in exchange for an honest review.*

So Good I devoured it in one day, dodging all household responsibilities much to my hubby's frustration... LOL Gerald Wright has been an interesting person in the background through out the series and I was so happy to get to know him better in this new story. Julia Kent does not disappoint in developing her people and the stories they have lived. Suzanne is the perfect puzzle part to complete Gerald. They are so explosive together it was so fun to watch them figure out the past and the present. Great appearances from lots of the beloved people of this series through out the book, loved every laugh out loud moment. Lots of fun to read.

Shopping for an Heir is the next book in an absolutely amazing series by Julia Kent. I love the humor and love that goes on in all of her books. You will be constantly laughing (even out loud), gasping, and blushing. This is the fastest that I have read a book in a while, and I read fast normally. Gerald is the chauffeur of the McCormick's and is also an ex-navy seal. He has seen and done things in his past that he would rather forget. One of those things is about a woman. He needs to try to make things right with her. She on the other hand was hurt bad, maybe too bad to try again. Find out what happens in this sexy book, where you will also find a hot naked billionaire surrounded by old women.

Gerald and Suzanne were so fun to read about and learn there story. There were parts in the story that had me laughing until I had tears running down my face, than there were parts that were warm and tender, but my favorite is when Agnes is involved, she is hilarious. It was such a great book I couldn't put it down.
