One use for this book that is not mentioned under the "Good for" category is that this is an excellent book for beginning readers. I am a Kindergarten teacher and after the children in my class finish the phonetic readers used with our curriculum I like to start them on the level one Step into reading books. This particular book has simple vocabulary and sight words, colorful pages and a cute story. The story line is not complicated and is easy to follow for beginning readers.
This is a great little book for kids learning to read. The plot is hilarious and the colorful pictures make kids (and adults) giggle. The rhyme is fun and the repetition helps kids learn the longer more challenging words. As a mom, I enjoy it and don't mind hearing my kids read it over and over. I wish all readers were as clever as this one!
My son is 3 1/2 years old and loves to be read to. He is learning to recognize letters, so we bought this book because it is colorful and easy to read. My son memorized the book within 3 readings and thinks he can now read. He is even more interested in books and has asked specifically for books for Christmas. This is a fun book to read.
