Most Helpful Customer Reviews
As a Southern boy and 8th generation Mississippian, the subject of the War Between the States and its effects on my native state remain a constant part of my being. This beautifully crafted novel is a pleasure to read. It fully captures the life of the Southern planters, highlighting their extraordinary character however, their shortcomings are not glossed over either. The story is engrossing and contains fictional as well as real-life characters of the war. Do not miss this book. Men will enjoy it just as well as women.
