by Lindsay Lohan

We all know the theory about Hollywood: Actors want to be musicians, and musicians want to be actors. Well, the latest crop of teen stars take that rule to heart from the very beginning. Teen dream Lindsay Lohan, who first showcased her singing prowess in her Freaky Friday remake, makes her album debut with the dance pop–based Speak. Lohan infuses her diatribes about the hassles of stardom with guitar-driven rampages and sassy club beats, as on the funky single "Rumors." Naturally, she finds time to weigh in on love and heartbreak - boys, she doesn't care if you love her or hate her in "Nobody 'Til You." But her emotions get the best of her as she "watches the walls around her crumble" in the ballad "Over." Lohan revels in her untamed teen angst and seems to make no apologies for it. But let's hope she doesn't burn out like another young, fair-haired pop-dance diva we know. Musically, Lohan is following in the rock-lite tradition of Hilary and Ashlee, staking her claim to musical fame with several songs - such as "Symptoms of You" and the title track, "Speak" -- that will find their true calling played at high school parties or used as motivation while dressing for said events. And Lohan's voice is distinctive enough that she could well stand the test of time and develop into a 20-something talent to be reckoned with.

I was a fan of Lindsay's acting, but wasn't so sure of her music, especially after I heard "Rumors" which I thought was a bad song, but the album is actually a pretty good one!

This is a good pop album BECAUSE the rest is not like "Rumors." The lyrics are brash and the songs are crisp.

Well rumours a tune but i mean oh my god can this girl actually sing? Singing through your nose doesn't count as singing and mindless rubbish tunes doesn't count as music....i really wanted to like lindsay's album i really did but im sorry putting my ears through torture is just not worth it...better luck next time!!!

When I heard and saw the music video "Rumors" my first reaction was "Oh great another Britney" Basically because I could visualize Britney singing this type of song and dancing in a cage for pitisake. I was turned off by her song until my sister bought her album. She made me listen tirelessly to it since she was playing it every second of her life. It wasn't until I actually started listening to it closely that I caught myself feeling the beat to some of her songs (not rumors might I add). She's good, but not awesome, not really anything you'd have on repeat for hours (unlike my sister)

For her first CD Lindsay Lohan did a good job, I listen to the whole CD and now I can't get this one songs out of my head! 'Symptoms of you' is one of my favors, I love the piano and music to it. For anyone who want this CD, you should go out and buy it now!

Lindsay Lohan has released her first cd entitled "Speak" and some pretty good songs on this disc. My favorite is "Rumors" and if u don't like it, u are corny.

I listen to this cd almost once a week. It helps me think. The lyrics are very good, and her vocal range is great. She really shows her multi-facettedness. Great CD.

For Lindsay's first album I have to say it is very good. I really liked the variety of songs from rockers to ballads and in-between. She sounds good singing all types of songs. She seems to have made the transition to singer quite easily. Favorites are First, Speak, and Nobody "Till You.

This CD was alright. I like her music, I'm just not so crazy about her voice. (She has serious pitch problems) I think that who Lindsay Lohan is as a person affects her music, too because she's really dingy she always dyes her hair and I think it's sort of ridiculous: You get one hair color, and one hair color only! Lindsay is always switching from boy to the next boy, so I feel really bad for her ex's. Getting back to her CD, lots of people think she's bad, and that she's good, but most of the time, you just go along with it.

This album is good, and I like the beats. But, her music video for "Rumours"? Not so great. She's showing off her body, and making out. Not appropriate for kids. But, even though the music video wasn't too great, the song is pretty cool. The other songs in this album are good, too. Just... please don't show that much skin...

I love this cd. I listen to it evereyday. At first I was like "Am I listening to Hilary Duff or Lindsay Lohan?!", but I really love the catchy beats and words. I would recomend it to rock fans.

this CD isn't that bad, not at all. if i had to choose between hilary duff and lindsay lohan, i'd choose lindsay lohan any day. the songs are all very catchy and the lyrics are fun to listen to. i especially like the song OVER and SPEAK.

She's more known as a actress but Lindsay Lohan stepped into the studio to record a supposedly hip-hop/rock record but it seems more like teen-pop and a marketing strategy. I like "Over", Rumors and Something I Never Had" but this album isn't on Grammy-type level. The topics are meaningful but the lyrics are too bubblegumish.

WOW!!!! This CD was AWESOME!!! The music was inspiring. I agree that "Singing wont get her nowhere" because singing will get her everywhere! She's a great actress AND singer!!! If you like the sample tracks, get the CD.

The album is modest at best..her voice is ok..and the first single..rumors is very misleading..because the album does not reflect the first single..i think many people will be disappointed at this...I would recommend Kelly Clarksons new album..its in stores today..and it is aweasome..far superior this this album..vocally, musically and lyrically...if u want good lasting music..go with kelly clarkson or Gwen stefani...later..

Just amazing... 'Speak' is great. Yeah, yeah I know what your thinking just because shes an actress she thinks she can sing now but the truth is Lindsay can sing and her voice is very different. Don't think of this album based on 'Rumors' because its very different from that. I love all the songs and the lyrics are very clever. Heres a run down on the tracks: First - Its a rocky sorta tune, I love the beat on this track. Nobody 'Til You - This was one of faves when I first heard the album and its a good sing along. Symptoms Of You - Its a really nice ballard, another one of my faves and it reminds me of Ashlee's 'Pieces Of Me'. Speak - A poppy song, its quite catchy. Over - I really actually do like this song, love the chorus. Something I Never Had - I can so relate to this song... actually i can relate to alot of the songs on this album. Anything But Me - Cool song, you can sing along to this one qutie well. Disconnected - I love the lyrics on this track, they are very clever, its another one of my faves. To Know Your Name - Its a dance sorta track but with a different kinda beat. Im still deciding but this could be my fave track! It also reminds me of something off Gwen Stefani's album. Very Last Moment In Time - I love this track its a very nice ballard, the start reminds me of a Red Hot Chilli Peppers song. Rumours - Great dance track, very different to the rest of the album.

this was the worst cd i have EVER heard in my life. It was really boring and pathetic and every song is about the same thing it's either about a boy or trying to look pretty.Don't buy this cd!!!

I rather enjoy this album. I had heard many horrible reviews for it, and was wary of listenign to it. But once I did I began to enjoy it. Over,First, and Anything but me are actually pretty good tracks. I definately reccommend this CD.

Linday Lohan's first was Alright, but nothing to get excited about. it did have some really cool songs it from my perspective, like First, Over, and my personel favorite, Rumors which i thought was the best song on the album

Before I get to the negatives of this CD, I should tell you that it has great tunes and the songs are wonderful. But, there is a problem or two. Lindsay Lohan used to be as sweet as Hilary Duff, but now she is a total slut! She has slutty photos in the music packet and swore in the CD in one of the songs. I don't recommend this for children under the age of about 11.

I tought this was a great album because most of the songs on the disc was catchy and i loved all of them! they had a different tune from the rest but yet you can tell that she actually sang it unlike other* artists.
