His wolf can sense her, but is he worthy of her?

Forget what anyone tells you: the holidays are hell. Bickering family members, rushed shopping and every woman stressing over setting the perfect holiday spread. Ginger knew this full well as she struggled to keep her cakes and pastries in stock. It was a good problem to have, but lately it seemed like all she had were problems. But just when you think you have life figured out, six feet of the right kind of problem walks in the door. Now there's a problem I'd like to tackle.... Wait, what's going on with his eyes?

Jack is on the hunt. Not for an enemy, and not for the delicious moose he sometimes indulges in back home in Alaska. What's brought him to Gray Creek, ND is his idiot brother. Who travels across the country to get involved in something that doesn't concern him? His brother, Connor, that's who. But before he can grab Connor and drag him back to Alaska, he meets her, and she's something fierce.

Every Monday in 2019 I'll be releasing a brand new novella for you to gobble up! Keep up with the Shifter Babies of America series and enjoy a nice little one-sitting story!

The cover page and title don't march the story told. They are misleading. It should have been called The Carpenter. Anyways it was a cute, quick, short story with a small town baker meeting a wolf shifter carpenter who is looking for his btother who is hunting a wolf shifter causing problems. The plot was good but the relationship between the baker and carpenter was rushed. She sees him shift and falls in love the end. It could have been made into a longer book with the relationship developing more over time. But for a 30 page book it was ok.

Overall rating: 4.2 The things that I enjoyed about this tale are firstly, the characters became lifelike quickly. The actual storyline is fast paced and a breeze to read through. The HEA is sweet and simple. All in all a great PNR that can be squeezed in during a lunch break. The title is slightly confusing in relation to the story but still a good read. Shifters, a mating bond, great chemistry, and even a bit of danger all wrapped up in a quick, engaging tale. This first in a series of short, shifter stories sets the bar pretty high for what's to come. It's easily read in one sitting, which is a good thing because the pacing and story keep the pages turning. It's impossible not to fall a bit for Jack with his charm, and I love feisty heroines so Ginger is perfect for this romance. She speaks her mind and takes no guff, but it's not overdone. The mating bond so prevalent in shifter stories is present, but it's not really the focus. Rather than it being the topic of every conversation, it's more implied, letting the terrific chemistry between Jack and Ginger grow into something almost tangible. We also have some danger to add to the excitement and further compliment an already entertaining read. All in all, a great start to a promising series.

Ginger and Jack are attracted to each other. Ginger, while interested, denies the attraction. Will she give in? Can she see herself with a shifter? Will Jack find his brother? Loved the story! Keep up the good work Ms. Fanning!

I enjoyed reading this book , it short but sweet. Jack (a shifter) comes to town looking for his brother and meets Ginger the local baker. Their chemistry is great, and the storyline is wonderful. I can't wait for more from this author. I received this book as a FREE ARC copy to read and I voluntarily leave this review.

This is a short, intriguing novella about a wolf shifter (Jack) who comes into a town (Grey Creek) searching for his brother (Conner) & meets his mate, the local baker who happens to be a human female (Ginger). I found the story-line and plot quite entertaining & well-written with interesting characters. There is: wolf shifters, a rogue shifter, drama, some humor, attractions, conflict, surprises & happiness.
