Camryn Covic comes from a large extended ethnic family. She is having a bad day. He boyfriend has been sleeping with her boss and is dumping her. Her boss has the guy now and fires her and to top it off her apartment is going condo and she can’t afford to buy in. Jobless and homeless she is resigned to moving back in with her family until she can find a new job. Her younger sister is getting married and her family is expecting her to bring her boyfriend. Her single status at her sister's upcoming wedding will be fodder for disaster. The bride-to-be convinces Cam to ask Troy, an old friend, to pretend to be her boyfriend for the wedding. She is shocked when he agrees. They are total opposites. She is uptight and always in control and he is a laid back ladies man. But when it comes down to it they have a history and they truly “get” one another. Troy wants to remind Cam that love and magic are possible but can he do it without falling for the one woman he shouldn't want? This is one seriously funny book. At first I wanted to slap Cam for allowing herself to feel the way she did about herself. But once I met the family I understood better. I loved Troy from the start. Kelly Moran wrote this one from the heart. You can feel the love she has for these characters and you can’t help but love them too.

A crazy family, a storyline that screams MOVIE, and the comic relief of a 3 year year old add up to a wonderful, funny read.  The book made me smile, laugh, and "awww" the entire time.  Only the Covic's (well, and MY family) could turn a horseback ride into such a production! I loved "the list" and Troy's efforts to show Camryn another side of herself.   I could relate to Cam more than I wanted to and found Troy's ways to be sweet and charming.  I couldn't help but root for both of them and was only dissapointed when I had to put the book down!

Wow you know those books that while your reading it you can instantly picture as a Movie because its that good? This is one of them! I'm sure you have read the synopsis at the top of the page so i will just generalize it for you Cam has lost everything and she needs to return home to her family which is less than ideal because of how judgmental they are especially now with her sisters wedding coming up and she has no date since her boyfriend broke up with her after he slept with her boss and then got fired. So her sister comes up with a plan for cam to ask their family friend tony to pretend to be her boyfriend to avoid further embarrassment and judgement from her family he shockingly says yes! He then after not seeing cam for awhile sees how much she's changed from the girl that made him feel like someone to this cynical person before him so he decides to show her that true love is real but can he do it without falling in love with her himself? This book had me ALL over the place emotionally it was funny it was happy I felt anger in the beginning for cam and how she let everyone treat her until i met her family and understood she's dealt with it for a while! But anyways this is a def. 1-click buy don't wait another second this is the type of book you can pick up and re-read for years to come whenever you want to laugh or smile or just want an honest good book!!!

The Dysfunctional Test By: Kelly Moran This is the first I have read by Kelly Moran and it was great. The Dysfunctional Test is hilarious with sweet romance. I have to say that I laughed and laughed so much while reading this novel. It is so funny. Camryn grew up in a large and crazy Serbian family. Camryn lost her boyfriend to her boss, her boss let her go, and she lost her apartment all in one day. I think that is enough to get anyone down. To top it off Camryn is suppose to go to her sister, Heather's, wedding in two weeks and bring her boyfriend. Her boyfriend that dumped her for her boss and told her she was a robot. Camryn is talked into getting her brother's friend, Troy, who the family had adopted years ago to go with her to the wedding and pretend they are a couple. They are suppose to pretend that they have been seeing each other for a long time . These two grew up together and how could they make this work? Camryn is just not Troy's type. She lets her family talk about her all the time and never talks back to them . You just want to tell them to shut up and leave her alone. Troy has played the field and has had several girlfriends, and Camryn thinks she is not beautiful or  good enough for him. There is also Camryn's little niece who is three and she is some character. I laughed at her and wanted to wash her mouth out several times. You will love her. Well I want say anymore, but that you will just have to read The Dysfunctional Test and find out more about Camryn and Troy.  I was given a copy of this book for my honest review and I have given it.

Review Of The Dysfunctional Test By Kelly Moran The Dysfunctional Test was laugh out loud, hysterically funny. When I wasn't falling out of my chair from laughter I was grinning ear to ear like a goof ball checking all around me to make sure my husband and kids were not looking at me. This book made me a fan for life of Kelly's. Camryn 'Cam' Covic comes from a very, in your face, Serbian family. To her, everything she does gets held up to a microscope. When Cam loses her apartment, her boyfriend, and her job all in the same day she soon realizes that all eyes will be on her because wouldn't you know she was supposed to bring her boyfriend to her sister Heather's wedding. Just when she thought things couldn't possibly get any worse for her, her sister Heather hatches a scheme meant to help Cam get through her wedding, but what actually ends up happening even Cam couldn't predict. Troy Lanske has been part of the Covic family since he was a young boy. With an abusive father, living with Camryn's family was not only an necessity but gave Troy the family he longed for. When Cam divulges her plan, Troy is taken aback by the very idea. When he was a Foster Child Cam's family was his life line but, if not for Cam herself, he wouldn't have gotten through it nearly as well. Now, Troy feels it's his turn to repay Cam back for all she has done for him even, though in the back of his mind, he feels he will lose her family forever. What Cam and Troy set out to do ends up being a comedy of errors and missteps that will leave you gasping for breathe from laughing. I LOVE a book that can unexpectedly make me laugh so hard my sides hurt and that is exactly what Kelly's book did for me. Don't get me wrong, there were some very sweet and tender moments well placed in this story and it has you believing in Happily Ever After as you are laughing your butt off and smiling ear to ear. On a scale from 1-10 I give The Dysfunctional Test a SUPER HUGE 20. Yes, yes it is off my scale BUT Kelly book is just that PHENOMENALLY AWESOME. If you LOVE funny romances, bickering family members, unexpected love, or just an out and out FABULOUS story then this book is for you. I encourage EVERYONE 16+* to pick up a copy of The Dysfunctional Test and get lost in Camryn and Troy's wild and crazy ride.

"Yes, you do, Camryn. You're awake for the same reason I am. I need you to admit it. I went this far, meet me halfway. Make the next move." I really like this book!!! It is so good! I totally loved Troy and I kept willing Camryn to loosen up. And I loved how Troy made that happen! This book was a great read and I stayed up extra late to finish it because I didn't want to put it down! Can't wait to read the next Kelly Moran book!!

Camyrn has the worst day of her life - she loses her apartment, boyfriend, and job. And to top it off now she doesn’t have anyone to go with her to Colorado for her sisters wedding. Her crazy Serbian family was going to make her life miserable at the wedding, but her sister has a plan - a fake relationship with Troy, a foster child her family took in year ago, agrees reluctantly to the crazy plan and the fun begins. This book drew me in on so many levels. At first it was just because the family lived in Milwaukee - gotta love a book where the characters love your sports team LOL. But them I got to know why Camyrn was so good at holding her emotions and why she dealt with things the way she did. I can relate to her in so many ways - I handle things differently than her, but I totally understood it. I love how Troy brings her out of her shell with the “list” and how those little things make her change little by little. And who doesn’t love a gorgeous construction worker! And I cried the entire last chapter! If I could give this 10 stars I would. I have a handful of authors that I will read anything they write because they know how to draw me in and that I can not find fault with any of their writing. Kelly Moran has joined that group. A must read.

With lovable characters easy to relate to and sympathize with, The Dysfunctional Test is a light-hearted comedy dealing with hard issues at its core. Camryn is the outcast in a loud and opinionated family. After losing her boyfriend, her job, and her apartment all in the same day, she’s desperate to find a date to her sister’s wedding. Troy, her childhood friend become playboy hottie, steps in like a knight in shining armor. But can he really pretend he likes her? And can she keep her cool during all those pretend kisses and touches that leave her wanting more? I loved how the hero and heroine go back so far. There’s so much back story about how her family took him in and how they grew to know each other that it makes the love story deeper and more meaningful, and the stakes higher. I totally sympathized with Camryn, especially the part where she tries on her bridesmaid dress and it doesn’t fit even though it’s supposed to be her size. I know exactly how embarrassing something like that can be. Ms. Moran knows how to write a scene to make you root for the heroine all the way through. I’ll definitely be reading more from her in the future!

When a book starts with a heading like "Life Lessons According to Camryn: Some People are like Slinkies. They're only good for a smile when you push them down the stairs." you know is going to be interesting at worst but I found that this book was Phenomenal!!!  When I pick up a book I want to be entertained, educated, or taken away to another world... That is what I got from this book. The characters are written with such realism that you either know someone like them or wish you did. I laughed so hard I was in tears at times and I couldn't put the book down. The love story is so amazingly sweet, you will fall in love with Camryn and Troy. I received this book as a gift from the author in a giveaway. I am completely in love with this book and will recommend it to everyone <3

The Unintentional Love Affair Ever felt that a story was written about you while you weren't looking? Kelly Moran has such a way of pulling you into the story and leaving you feeling as if you had just lived through it all. "The Dysfunctional Test" was one of those stories for me. Camryn, a very self controlled, quite, dedicated woman is about to have her world rocked right out from under her, sending her into an emotional tailspin! What do you expect, when everything you knew or thought you knew no longer exists? Life changes everything for Camryn all in less than 24 hours. Leaving her not only relatively homeless and jobless, but single in the process. To top it all off she has only days to show up for a huge family wedding where she was supposed to introduce the man she had been dating for over a year. This is where the comedy begins! Here enters Troy, her foster brother and her brother Fishers best friend! Trying to convince them both to pretend to be a couple is hilarious in it's own way. Where Camryn feels like a wallflower, Troy is everything a woman could ever dream of. In the process of trying to convince their large unbelieving family that she is worthy of such a hunk of a boyfriend, the situation gets all turned around and they have to remind themselves this is just a pretend relationship, or is it?!? Add this all together with a rather loud, yet loving family, a precocious three year old who mispronounces every situation and you have "The Dysfunctional Test"! Every chapter begins with "Life Lessons According to Camryn:". How can you not be drawn in when the very first one is "Some people are like Slinkies. They're only good for a smile when you push them down the stairs". How can you not want to continue just to see what comes next. I just couldn't put it down! Truly love and enjoyed this story, and I am sure you will too!

It is no secret that I adore Kelly Moran's writing, her style to tell a story, and the characters she creates. In The Dysfunctional Test, I also related to the characters like I don't remember when before. I read the book while traveling to a big family celebration, and throughout it laughed about the similarities and how close to home it hits time and again. I love the big Serbian family, the description of them is so true to life, I could picture them in my mind, and hear them banter and argue, love and laugh like I was in the room with them. Camryn Covic and Troy Lanske have a history that goes back to their childhood. There is the bond and the connection that has always been there, that was tight and true. But with the fake relationship scheme, it takes on a new, different type knowledge they need from each other, and a new kind of eyes they have to look at each other, to make the relationship seem even remotely real. Troy has a reputation of a ladies man that is slightly exaggerated. Yes, there has been a good number of relationships in his past, but only one at the time and feelings of a true attraction has always been part of the conquests. Growing up to be a man like his father is the biggest fear in Troy's mind, thus avoiding serious relationships and fatherhood. I really liked him, there were honesty, sincerity, and solidity in him, that was easy to appreciate and like. He was fun, he had an eye for the true emotions of others around him, he could look through the smoke and mirrors that hid the truth and made an effort to bring the forward the best in people. Camryn had always felt like an outsider in her own family. She had learned early on to hide her emotions, hold control in every situation, and never let feelings take over her and make a fool out of herself like her family did constantly. She is smart as a whip, she is kind, considerate, and sweet, yet people don't see her true colors, but only the outside shell she puts on when surrounded by the overwhelming family of hers. There's a lot of fun and humorous banter in the story, there are moments that made me sigh and swoon, there are moments that hit home with emotions so hard I was in tears, and moments that had me holding my breath with anticipation, wishing for the best. The characters are easy to relate to, it is easy to find similarities with them, with the family situations and the relations we have with our own relatives. A lively and fastly entertaining story, that gave many laughs yet touched my heart and hit close to home on many occasions. The romance is filled with deep emotions, passion, and adoration, and is based on life-long bond. The crazy, out of control family creates conflicts but also delivers humor and love. There are so many layers into the tale, each easily identified with, that made me love the story from so many different perspectives. I think this story made me see my own family and its dysfunctions in a different light, and that in itself is a huge accomplishment. Laughter, affection, loving, and adoration.... An absolutely touching yet humorous story that I treasured.

Review: The Dysfunctional Test by Kelly Moran 18154314 Kelly Moran rarely disappoints and The Dysfunctional Test is certainly anything but dysfunctional. Camryn Covic is the odd duck in her Serbian family. Whereas they are loud and crazy, she is calm and shuts down her emotions. When a horrible day leaves her without a job, an apartment, and a boyfriend, she reaches her breaking point. Cam is dreading her family’s reaction to going to her sister’s upcoming wedding without a boyfriend. This is when her sister comes up with a plan: pretend family friend Troy is her mysterious boyfriend. Troy agrees to the scheme and in doing so, learns more about the girl who gave him hope when he was a foster kid. When he realizes that Cam doesn’t believe in happily ever after, he does everything he can to change it. Even as he does, he realizes he has a lot to lose. I empathized with Cam from the start, which meant that I spent a portion of the book crying. Her relationship with her family is recognizable to anyone that has a large family, or siblings that are different from each other. While there is clearly a lot of love in the family, it’s also easy to see the patterns that people fall into and the slights and hurts that aren’t meant. Troy is hands down one of the most romantic heroes I’ve read in a while. His determination to help Cam believe in happily ever after is endearing and the actions he takes to do this were beautiful. There were definite moments that made me swoon and I loved reading how Cam slowly starting to show her inner self to everyone around her. The secondary characters are also terrific. Sure, Cam’s sister Heather steamrolled over Cam at times, making decisions for her and not listening, but she also clearly loves Cam and wants what is best for her. Cam’s niece, Emily is adorable as any three year old and the way she messes up words is hysterical. Bernice, who is Heather’s future mother-in-law, is breath of fresh air. As her brother, Fisher is both a friend to Troy and a brother to Cam, which means there is some fun tension. One of the best aspects of this book is the sense of family that comes through: not just on Cam’s behalf, but also for Troy. It is also worth reading the Life Lessons According to Camryn that head each chapter. They are laugh out loud funny. The Dysfunctional Test is about relationships: family, friends, and romantic. Cam and Troy have all three and it was a true delight to read their story. 5 Stars and a keeper

Camryn knew it was going to be a disastrous day right from the start with a nonrenewal notice of her lease. She had been in a relationship with Maxwell, who was also her boss for fifteen months. He cheated with the vice president of the company, Alicia. After finding this out she was called into Alicia’s office and fired as a budget cut. Then last but not least her sister Heather was getting married and now she had no date. But Heather said what about Troy…. Predictable story for the most part but I still really liked it. I loved the characters especially Camryn and Troy, but Camryn’s family made me laugh at times and other times cry as they unknowingly hurt her. I really liked the story and plot.
