I loved having all of the books in one spot - where I could move from one to the next! And while its not always clear how the next book fits into the Quartet, give it a shot - its worth it in the end.

It was an awesome read. And having the ability for all four books in one volume was wonderful. Each book was more like a short story anyway so the 1 volume brought each of the stories together as I think they should be. Why anyone would want to read the Hunger Games or Divergent series- this is by far the superior read!

This quartet started with a book of a freedom chaser. Line per line, it keeps the reader wanting to finish it and to never put it down. The stories are not without their teaching, and learning without its sentiment. It's simply enthralling. You would want to read it over and over again.

Lois Lowry does such a good job of weaving all the stories together and having them all together in one book was brilliant - I read one right after the other! The reason for 4 stars instead of five was the rushed ending of the last book, a little disappointing after the journey of 4 books. But still a good fantasy read I couldn't put down.

Love all the books in this series, but The Giver is my favorite. Very well written and thought provoking. These are books that have stuck with me for years and years and it is great that they are now all available in one book. Real space saver for my already cramped book shelf!

The giver series was an amazing read! Though when you reach the second and third book do not be alarmed, it can be a little confusing but once you read the forth and final book you will be mind blown when you see everything connected so perfectly and will make you go WOW great book will most likely read this again when ever I want to smile at an authors awesomeness

Well written and thoughtful, this quartet tells a beautiful story. I love the themes in each story - the value of human life, no matter how different you are; the longing for family, etc. Did not want it to be over. You really need to read all 4 stories for complete satisfaction. So many books do not leave you satisfied, but this one does the job!

The book may be hard for teen and young adults biut is very thriling and you have to read it twice because you might understand it beater then the first time you read it . And once you get past book one it may get complacated or even wired but think of your self living in that world you will then enjoy what we have and know much better.

It's nice to have all the books in one place. Many of us have read the Giver for school, or perhaps seen the movie, but it is really much better when you have read all four. The stories may seem to leave a lot out, but Lowry wove them together masterfully. You won't be left unsatisfied if you finish them all (or even just the first three, though you'll want to read the last one for the full experience). The biggest criticism I have is the ending of the last book. It felt rushed, especially compared to the detailed, immersive stories that came before it. It could have used to be slowed down a bit, and given some more depth. It seemed like the author just wanted to tie it all up at that point. But that's really only noticeable in Part 3 of Son.

When i was in fourth grade my teacher read us the giver and i loved it. So in fifth grade i read the next book. I had no clue how the two had fit together as my teacher had told me. It wasn't until next christmas when i had gotten my new nook that had this book already on it that i finally understood how they fit together. I once again started bavk at the giver to refresh myself on the details. When i reached messenger it all clicked together. Overall these books were great and i recemend them to all young readers. Definetally worth your money. Louis Lowry has a very sensetive style.

Just loved it!

Absolutley amazing. It gets really confusing in the second an third books because they seem to be a whole different series, but good ol' Lois Lowry ties it all together in the last one.

The giver and all of the following books are extremely inspiring and promote deep thought. The giver movie is just as amazing.

Loved The Giver when I read it in 7th or 8th grade. It was my introduction to dystopian novels, and the characters, imagery and society always stayed with me. As an adult I have loved seeing the universe expanded and to see what came of Jonah and Caleb.
