This book has beautiful pictures and does a great job preparing the younger reader for an AP exam. (Also great for the everyday art fan.) It doesn't, however, focus on comparing the different art eras and styles. It is too much of a history book with insufficient stylistic analysis. I recommend supplementing it with Stokstad's 'Art: A Brief History.' Or a smaller handbook such as 'From Abacus to Zeus.'
