This is a lovely Bible. There are so many wonderful features to it and I've truly enjoyed using it in my devotional and Bible study time. First thing I love is the size of the font. It's not so small that you have trouble reading it. It's much easier on my eyes and I'm able to keep reading without problems. The study notes are a bit smaller, but again, they are much larger than other study Bibles I own. The colored pictures bring the Bible alive! There are pictures of places, (i.e., Athens, Island of Patmos, Smyrna, etc.), as well as maps, paintings, drawings and more. Each book of the Bible also starts with a colored picture so it makes it easy to find each book. The study notes are detailed and really helped me to understand the Scripture I was reading. There are also different indexes in the back that cover the teachings of Christ, the parables of Christ, the miracles of Christ as well as other detailed things that give you a wonderful over all understanding of the Bible. I really liked it because I was doing a specific word study and this helped me to go to each Scriptures and tie them together. There are also lovely maps in the back, too. The fact that one of my professors from Liberty University, Howard Hindson, is the general editor, gave me great confidence that the study notes and other study materials within are accurate and done with utmost care. I highly recommend this Bible! I have come to depend on it as I do my studies because it gives me so much information right at the end of my fingertips. I highly recommend it and give it 5 out of 5 stars. *This Bible was provided to me for my honest review by BookLook Bloggers

I received this very beautiful Hard Cover KJV Study Bible today courtesy of HarperCollins Christian Publishing, Inc. to review. I already own numerous Thomas Nelson Bibles, Including some very old huge family versions from the 70′s. So I sat down and opened this bible, ready to do my normal KJV Cambridge Word Check to see what words were altered, Paper Quality Check, and since its Red Letter which usually means to me, the Pink Letter Test, I opened this Bible and I have to say that I was really astonished at first glance on the information this bible offers to the reader. I normally do not use Study Bibles as most of the Study Bibles I have and reviewed always pushes a “one way” denominational interpretation instead of generic references and discussions on biblical fact, archeological findings and/or historical finds. But this KJV released by Thomas Nelson seems to have changed their approach to this Study Bible version which is really nice. As I was looking at most of the study notes I noticed it speaks more of biblical facts based on actual referenced passages, dictionary type references, historical references, and puts the study notes in a non-denominational tone which is breath of fresh air and really good for the general reader not forced into a denominational viewpoint and belief system other then what the Bible itself states. When I turned to their notes on the Rapture, it kept a general tone and the assumed order of events based on actual referenced passages and stating that the dead will rise instead of pushing the already in heaven scenario I have seen in a lot of study bibles which makes no sense scripturally as scripture states we all sleep (Job 14:12 / Jn. 11:12-13) till Jesus returns, which is why the bible talks of a resurrection. When I researched their study notes on the Sabbath, which is the Seventh Day (Saturday) not the first day (Sunday), there were no grasping at straws in these notes trying to push a denominational belief system of the man made changes from Saturday to Sunday which Constantine did in 321 A.D. when he declared the first Sunday Law, prohibiting the keeping of the biblical sabbath (Dan 7:25 / Matt. 15:9). Many Study Bibles I read actually alienates those who keep the biblical sabbath (Matt. 5:18-19 / Rev. 22:14) by falsifying facts and putting in bogus interpretations and calling those who honor the sabbath as legalists. You will not find that in this Study Bible. The notes in this version will always reference other passages and copy passage fragments from the referenced passage to make a general discussion on the passage your currently studying. Someone like myself who is a Seventh-Day Adventist and who follows a more strict and literal interpretation of the bible, this KJV Edition is a real gem in my growing collection of KJV Bibles. But I can also now say I have a Thomas Nelson Bible that is also a Pure Cambridge Edition (PCE) which I tested against my Counterfeit word list and is not altered in any way. This one I will definitely be reading on a more daily basis as the maps, notes, archeological, dictionary references, and discussions within these pages helps the reader to know more of the times that our founding fathers lived as well as basic biblical discussions of the passages currently being read. This bible is definitely recommended by us. Thomas Nelson Publishers out did themselves in this publication.
