I don't want to give away too much, but trust me when I say you have to read this story. It will forever be on your list of books to read over and over. If you want a lesson in writing a picture book for the price of a book, then look no further. You have it in this moon book. Susanna has much to teach in character development and in writing in kidspeak (even for NF). What a fun book to read with your child. The moon just wants a friend, after all. And such a fresh telling of the moon landing. Susanna's best work yet. Creative nonfiction and it even has a QR code with Neil Armstrong. The art is simply beautiful. Buy this for the little moon lover on your list. You'll be so glad you did.

The moon wants friends to visit her. She watches and waits patiently as the beings on Earth develop until finally, humans engineer a way to reach her. Moon’s First Friends: One Giant Leap for Friendship offers an imaginative perspective on the Apollo 11 moon landing, along with plenty of factual and fascinating nonfiction back matter. The book is a terrific introduction for future aerospace engineers!
