I received a copy of this Bible for review. The NIV Color Code Bible is one of my favorite Bibles for children that I have reviewed. Unlike some other kid Bibles, this one is straight and to the point. In the front of this Bible, kids are given the necessary information to understand why each highlighted topic is highlighted and why it is highlighted in a certain color. Then, if you read a little further, children are given a very elaborate 365-day reading plan. I found the reading plan perfect for the intended 6-12 age group because it wasn’t anything too hard for you to do with your child or them to do on their own. After the reading plan, a context of all the highlighted verses (organized by color) is shown so you can look up any Bible verse that you may want to on one of the ten topics. Once you finally get to the Bible, the pages are very clean and a small index is shown at the bottom to remind you what the highlighted verses are for. Towards the back of this Bible, this Bible has everything you would expect most bibles to have; maps, journaling pages, and even a table of weight and measurements. While the NIV Color Code Bible may not have some of the bells and whistles other kid’s Bibles do, I liked that this one was straight to the point and deigned in full-color.

NIV COLOR CODE BIBLE Published by Tommy Nelson – A division of Thomas Nelson Publishers A beautiful edition of the NIV Bible, and needless to say, very colorful. This edition is color coded in ten different colors for the reader and each color is a different topic. The topics are, God, sin/evil, Jesus, Heaven, spiritual, growth/living your faith, prayer and praise, cleansed of sin/new life, love, animals and family. Each color is explained in a section at the beginning of the Bible. Also included at the beginning are chapters on What is the Bible, who wrote the Bible, why should you read the Bible, your color code Bible, daily Bible reading plans, and an index of the color coded highlighted scriptures. Bible reading plans included are, through the Bible in a year, through the gospels in 90 days, read through Psalms and Proverbs in 30 days and 365 Daily topical scriptures readings. At the back of the Bible are included journaling pages to write your favorite verses or other notes. A set of colored maps are included. According to the back cover the Bible is designed for kids but this Bible would be very useful to all who want to get into a topic type of Bible study. I think any age would enjoy using this Bible and that it would help to get a better understanding of God and His great love for us. The Color Code Bible is the full NIV edition, just with a beautiful color coding for easy following topics through the Bible. A great edition to add to your library and to use at family Bible studies. I received this book free from the publisher through the BookLook Bloggersbook review bloggers program. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own. I am disclosing this in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission’s 16 CFR, Part 255

Another beautifully bound Bible from Thomas Nelson. This NIV version has especially color highlighted verses to draw attention to them. Each color represents a specific subject such as prayer, God, sin, family or love. The highlighting is a light color, so the verses aren’t obscured and are still easily readable. The idea is to help kids find biblical truths that we as adults have found growing up. My math teacher was also my Bible teacher and her focus in our class was covering the wisdom within Proverbs. This Bible highlights those verses I’d learned so long ago, but that still holds true today. The binding is solid, high quality though the cover is soft. Maps in the back are colorful and informative, to help the reader get a mental picture of what’s covered. There are Bible journal pages for note taking or just jotting down thoughts while reading. My mother likes to write down her prayers as she prays to keep her mind focused on Him so these pages would lend themselves well to that practice. This Bible isn’t chalked with thrills and pictures and such. It’s a basic Bible with the highlighting throughout. Not every page or verse is highlighted, so it isn’t overwhelming either. It’s a great Bible for study or for use in Sunday school. I plan to give it a test run with my kids this Sunday. I received a free copy from Booklook Bloggers in exchange for my honest opinion. This Bible will be released on October 10, 2017.
