The Sun and Her Flowers by Rupi Kaur

From Rupi Kaur, the #1 New York Times bestselling author of milk and honey, comes her long-awaited second collection of poetry.  A vibrant and transcendent journey about growth and healing. Ancestry and honoring one’s roots. Expatriation and rising up to find a home within yourself.

Divided into five chapters and illustrated by Kaur, the sun and her flowers is a journey of wilting, falling, rooting, rising, and blooming. A celebration of love in all its forms.
this is the recipe of life
said my mother
as she held me in her arms as i wept
think of those flowers you plant
in the garden each year
they will teach you
that people too
must wilt
in order to bloom

Rupi Kaur has been one of my favorite poets since Milk and Honey. Her writing style is so unapologetic and raw. She never fails to bring me to my knees in tears. This book is my therapy. She is my therapy and everyone should read this book to heal their heart.

There are not many writers today that can evoke the range of emotions that Rupi Kaur does in this book. You can hear the sounds of the refugee camp, smell the flowers of her mother's garden, and feel her pain as she writes about what happened to her. We live in a world where we over share the frivolous things in life but refuse to be real and honest with ourselves and with others. It is refreshing to read a work that truly touches the soul.

extremely unoriginal treatment of common ideas—grade-school level poetry.

After reading milk and honey by rupi kaur, I knew that I had to get my hands on, the sun and her flowers . I just picked it up today and read it in one sitting. This book is so beautiful, just like milk and honey, and I am in love with rupi kaurs work.

As usual, Kauri's words manage to make me feel like I'm not alone. Her poetry pulls me out of holes I didn't think had an exit.

I felt this collection did not move me the way Milk and Honey did. Perhaps I expected too much considering her first book was such a success. Even the most famous authors cannot please their followers 100% of the time. I have learned this from experience.

Similar to Milk and Honey, the other book written by Rupi Kaur. Both amazing, emotionally in-depth books I honestly don't have worda to describe the way it made me feel. My heart ached and clung to every word.
