The first book explained how the Governor was created; this thrilling sequel to The New York Times bestseller further reveals his ruthless, inhuman conquest of Woodbury

The zombie plague unleashes its horrors on the suburbs of Atlanta without warning, pitting the living against the dead. Caught in the mass exodus, Lilly Caul struggles to survive in a series of ragtag encampments and improvised shelters. But the Walkers are multiplying. Dogged by their feral hunger for flesh and crippled by fear, Lilly relies on the protection of good Samaritans by seeking refuge in a walled-in town once known as Woodbury, Georgia.

At first, Woodbury seems like a perfect sanctuary. Squatters barter services for food, people have roofs over their heads, and the barricade expands, growing stronger every day. Best of all, a mysterious self-proclaimed leader named Philip Blake keeps the citizens in line. But Lilly begins to suspect that all is not as it seems. . . . Blake, who has recently begun to call himself The Governor, has disturbing ideas about law and order.

Ultimately, Lilly and a band of rebels open up a Pandora’s box of mayhem and destruction when they challenge The Governor’s reign . . . and the road to Woodbury becomes the highway to hell in this riveting follow-up to Robert Kirkman and Jay Bonansinga's New York Times bestselling The Walking Dead: Rise of the Governor.

Will there be a third in the series? I could not put this book down!

Holy Moly was this a roller coaster of emotions and deaths that you won't see coming until they happen! The book starts out with us meeting Lily and her friend Josh in a field with other survivors just trying to survive. It's only when the group finds a circus tent that everything unravels to the point of true horror. After that horrific event when zombies came into camp, Josh & Lily are out of the group along with a few others. As they search for someplace safe, they meet a new group saying that Woodbury is the safest place around or is it? As we are reunited with the Governor of Woodbury, Lily and Josh soon realize that not everything in Woodbury is what it seems. I can't spoil too much after that, that ending will make you want to go read the next book in this series just to see if Lily gets her revenge for what had happened toward the ending of this book. I can only imagine what will happen next after the events of this book! Some people like to criticize this book and series for not being exactly like the TV show but I'm loving how different it is that it makes you fall even more in love with the whole concept of The Walking Dead! Thank You to Robert Kirkman & Jay Bonansinga for this awesome 2nd book in a series that I'm lovin' so far!! This book came from My Own Personal Library!

This book was pretty interesting. It has plenty of action to enjoy and does not follow the same story as the T.V. show. I recommend this book for those who like action packed books. The Walking Dead is one of my favorite shows, so I enjoyed reading a different tale with some parallels between the two. I was satisfied after reading Robert Kirkman’s novel and truly want others to share the enjoyment. If you are looking for an interesting book, look no further.
