Series Description

An epidemic of apocalyptic proportions has swept the globe, causing the dead to rise and feed on the living. In a matter of months, society has crumbled: There is no government, no grocery stores, no mail delivery, no cable TV. Rick Grimes finds himself one of the few survivors in this terrifying future. A couple months ago he was a small town cop who had never fired a shot and only ever saw one dead body. If your looking for the story to follow the show, forget it. Stark differences but very enjoyable.

Love the series. It does make me paranoid for all these people. Any new characters that are introduced, I think that I trust new people less than the actual characters do. I am constantly waiting for the other shoe to drop and find out what is going to happen. That is the beauty of this series though. With all the horrors up walking around and trying to eat you, it is man that you should fear. Just beautiful and epic.

Alexandria presents a new kind of problems for Rick and crew. I wish Kirkman would have elongated the uneasiness that Rick was feeling before things heated up but it was still gripping. The book is always better when we're shown the real villains are always people, not zombies. I really enjoyed Douglas and Rick's conversation about the worse things in their lives. It grounded both of them to hear it aloud. Charlie Adlard's is always spot on. Overall, a really enjoyable book.

Too Far Gone is issues 73-78 of the popular The Walking Dead comics! As the group gets settled into Alexandria and as they explore their new home, nothing about this place is what they think it is. After Rick discovers that one of the residents is being abuse, Rick takes it upon himself to deal with it but it comes with some setbacks that will ultimately put Rick in control by the end of the book. Also while on a supply run, Glenn and another member of the new group, unexpectedly brings a group of evil men to the front door of the colony which all makes them weary of what is out there. This has to be one of my favorite comics to date, it's nearly exactly what happened on the show but better! The whole scene of Glenn and the other guy unknowingly bringing bad trouble to the town was perfect in the sense that it showed everyone living in the colony that they really are not that safe which was what Rick was telling them from the beginning. I can only imagine what is to come but if it's like the show, it's gonna be good! Thank You to Robert Kirkman for having this comic played out on the show like it was without changing too much!! I borrowed this book from my local Public Library.
