From the intellectual leader of the Republican party, an unvarnished look into the state of the conservative movement today and a clear plan for what needs to be done to save the American Idea.

THE WAY FORWARD challenges conventional thinking, outlines his political vision for 2014 and beyond, and shows how essential conservatism is for the future of our nation.

Beginning with a careful analysis of the 2012 election—including a look at the challenge the GOP had in reaching a majority of voters and the prevalence of identity politics—Ryan examines the state of the Republican party and dissects its challenges going forward.

THE WAY FORWARD also offers a detailed critique of not only President Obama but of the progressive movement as a whole—its genesis, its underlying beliefs and philosophies, and how its policies are steering the country to certain ruin.

Culminating in a plan for the future, THE WAY FORWARD argues that the Republican Party is and must remain a conservative party, emphasizing conservatism in a way that demonstrates how it can modernize and appeal to both our deepest concerns and highest ideals.

A horrible read from start to finish. From beginning it becomes clear that Mr Ryan does not know anything about the budget.

An inspirational book about America's future.  Thorough, specific, optimistic.  Speaks clearly and intelligently to the hopes and dreams of ALL Americans.

Don't waste you time or money. Not worth it at all!! Wish there was a zero star for books like this.

He's got some good ideas, just needs to explain them better sometimes, which he does a better job of here. His story of how he grew-up, what his mother did for his family, etc is a true example of how strong a family can and should be. Also yet another example of how people can still have a great life even after a tragedy and hard times if they have a solid work ethic. Proof again that the only "casualties" in the now 50 year long war on poverty are the poor. At what point will that truly needless and senseless war be over?

This guy is the biggest tool bag I've ever heard, do not buy anything from this arrogant piece of trash I guarantee he doesn't a precise anything and he probably just thinks we're all beneath him

Probably most honest and spirited person in Washington. Paul Ryan understands Americans and provides ways of helping us out. I met him on his book tour. Real nice guy. I would vote for his Presidency.

The book is an easy read and Mr. Ryan does a good job laying out the case for change as well as the areas to change and how. If you are troubled by how the country is currently moving, this is a must read book.

A must read. The people who trash this book are either ignorant or a die heart liberal. Probably both!! It mystefies me that otherwise intelligent people can read a well documented, clearly sourced book and still hold true to information gleemed off the internet. Come on people, face the fact that you helped elect a man who may destroy this country.

Just more dribble from this mindless, Ayn Rand disciple. Three hundred pages of half-baked, misguided, misinformed rhetoric of how the poor are somehow to blame for their lot in life. He complains about how the poor and "inner city" (wink, wink) people take advantage of a system designed to exploit them, yet looks to cut the very Federally funded programs that allowed him to get his education and achive the status he enjoys today - - A truely, "I've got mine, to HELL with all y'all" type of fear and hate monger. Paul Ryan is a TWOT - total waste of time.

I have listened to his interviews for this book tour. Meal mouthed, core less, hypocritical, still blaming poor people for being poor. Refusing to answer any real questions. Has even said 'I'm putting my ideas on hold." Like what. The long awaited "REPLACE"? what a crock Ryan is a poser and LESS than an empty suit, Destined to accomplish less than nothing, like John McCain.

Deceptive and dishonest, Paul Ryan's plans for America always involve cutting funding for food stamps and other programs that help the most vulnerable and needy people in America. He's openly homophobic and is a threat to women's healthcare. He promotes the idea of survival of the fittest which will not lead America anywhere worthwhile or productive.
