This series of early childhood nonfiction texts (Amazing Animals, published by Creative Education) are some of the best I've ever seen. The photos are compelling yet simple, as is the text. I read this book word-for-word to my 2 1/2 year old son, and he was interested in many of the words and ("bellies," "swamps," prey") and captivated by the photos. This is a great series for any elementary library (see also "Dolphins," "Koalas," etc.)
