I love Sandra Boynton's animal kingdom. Here she showcases 25 of her favourite animals with (almost) every letter of the alphabet. Notice that there are 26 letters in the alphabet, but there are only 25 animals. I won't say more, but I don't want to spoil the gentle surprise. Sandra's funny animals will entertain parents and children alike. A perfect book to get one's child started on their A,B,C's. Heck, I already know my A,B,C's - and I read it anyway. I'll bet that you and your kids will, too.

I liked the book alot especially the details. She took so much time in thinking this book through. Kids love having pictures to guide them through their studies. I would let my kids use this book when introducing the alphabet. Also to show the many differnt kinds of aniamls.

A very short alphabet book, with each letter illustrated by an adjective-noun pair. The animals get a little weird at the end of the book (xylo xylophoning? Uglybird being ugly?), but that's only to be expected.

This book teaches the A, B, C¿s using animals and actions. This book is wonderfully illustrated and shows animal and action right next to the letter they represent.

An interesting alphabet of animals, each with an action word. "K Kangaroos Kissing," and so on. Some of the creatures are very obscure, like Uglybird and Xenosaurus, which is the usual trouble with this format of alphabet book. Not bad for toddlers and preschoolers who will like the simple clear and cheerful pictures. But we also like alphabet books with more words and more details in the artwork for each letter. It's good to have a wide variety for preschoolers and kindergarteners.

My grandson thoroughly enjoys this book and is working on saying the words each letter stands for. He's 19 months old and can spend hours "reading" with grandma and grandpa.

This book didn't really tell a story. It was just the alphabet. My son doesn't go back to this one over and over like Boynton's other books.

This book proved to be just like the other of Sandra's books. Interesting to the kids and wanting to keep reading over and over.
