This book was a lifesaver! I relied heavily on it during our first PCS and everything in it was accurate, even down to the notice about possibly having concrete tile floors in my quarters. Now we're getting ready to PCS again and I'm glad that I'll have this book to reference. I've looked a lot online and not been able to find nearly as much information as what is offered in this book.
I enjoyed this book! As a new military wife married to a man who just graduated from basic, I knew NOTHING about the military. This gave me objective, hard information, addresses, places to go and interesting history behind a lot of the customs. There are plenty of places to go for biased ranting, this book, thankfully, is not one of them. Well-researched and well-written.
I was very disappointed with this book although it had been recommended highly to me. It was more about protocol than anything else. I was looking more for a way to deal with all this new stuff the military is throwing at me. This book offered information, not assistance. If you want a guide to the rules and regs of the military buy this book. If you want help dealing with the military, don't bother.
