This is a truly awesome chess set! I play with it all the time now. Fair warning though: The pieces are plastic (although very nice), they aren't weighted, and the board folds. I didn't find that bad, but some people might. Overall, I think that if you are a Harry Potter fan and love to play chess, this is just the right chess set for you!

A wonderful set with great detail. I am a loyal fan and was not disappointed in my purchase. I knew beforehand that the pieces were plastic and the board would be cardboard, so I was not shocked by the materials used. The details and quality are amazing despite it. I love this set, and recommend it to fans everywhere.

I like the concept of this chess set. I'm not a movie aficionado, but the pieces appear to resemble the figures from the movie so fans of the film really like the set. Unfortunatily the quality of the set is poor. The set is quite expensive for plastic, so keep in mind you are just paying for the branding. Here are the good things. The pieces resemble the set from the movie. The board seems like high-quality game board. (It isn't wood or anything substantial.) Here are the negatives. #1. The pieces have hollow bases. Really? How much are they saving in plastic? This means they are top heavy. OK. No big deal. It's just a game. But you know - it's nice to play with solid stable pieces. Also the bases do not have felt or any other finish to them. #2. The pieces are bent. These pieces are pretty detailed, but the manufacturer did not use adequate care removing the pieces from their molds. Parts like the shields are bent where they did not come cleanly out of the mold. Conclusion The set is fine. I was disappointed in the quality. With just a little more effort it could be an excellent (plastic) chess set. In fact, if I had seen an actual set on display I would not have purchased it (as a present).
