The MetalEarth® models are amazingly detailed etched models that are fun and satisfying to assemble. Each model starts out as 4 inch square metal sheets and you simply pop out the pieces and follow the included directions to assemble your model. There once was a real ship named Black Pearl captained by Henry Morgan, one of the world’s most notorious pirates. The Black Pearl which first sailed in 1669 fought many battles; the most famous of which was an invasion in Panama in 1671. The following year Captain Morgan was put in prison in England. Years later he returned to Jamaica as a judge and governor. Henry Morgan died in England in 1688 after a long illness.

Needle nose pliers are helpful in assembly.

TERRIBLE PRODUCT! I would NOT recommend this product. I love building items similar to this, but I would not build another one of these products even if it was given to me for free. The metal sheets are very delicate, thus making it extremely difficult to build. The average consumer would not be able to build this past step 2 without breaking a sweat or damaging any parts. I'm amazed that a prominent company like B&N allowed an item like this onto their product line. What a waste.

I was so excited to build this when I get it today!! But what a disappointment! First even with following directions the tabs a so small i couldn't even get the the first mast to stay in place. Secondly when I was trying to figure out how to get the second mast in, the base broke so now I can't even build it!! I want my money back!

I love this! The instructions were easy to understand but some of the pieces were really delicate. I had to use tweezers to get them out and bend the little tabs. It's small but delightful! I highly recommend this.
