I’ve only been able to read the first three chapters of the book. But just that much has already brought a great understanding of trust.
I have quite a few of Joyce Meyers books. Not one of them is a dissapointment and this one is one of the best. Highly recomended.
This book truly rocked me. It wasn't always easy, but it was always honest and truthful. That's when you know you have a good book. It hurt to put the mirror up and check myself but I will be better now!!
One of Joyce Meyer's best books!!! Loved it!! This is a must have / read book!!!
Joyce Meyer is an inspiration. I watch her teachings on television and was excited to read her new book. Speaking for myself, I need the reminder and encouragement she offers in trusting God and God alone. Joyce talks about dealing with hurt and disappointment, about having patience, and being kind to others while placing your hopes in God. She presents the message of trust in her straightforward, tell it like it is, and easy to grasp style. She answered many of the questions we all have and mentors her readers in holding on to trust. I felt comforted while reading her words and a boost of confidence. A great read that I highly recommend.
Unshakeable Trust: Find the Joy of Trusting God at All Times, in All Things by Joyce Meyer is a highly recommended guide to encourage you to trust God with everything. But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit. Jeremiah 17:7-8 Joyce Meyer writes in the opening: From the very beginning of this book, I want to emphasize that trust is not an obligation that we owe God; it is a privilege that He makes available to us. We are invited to trust God, and by doing so, we open the door to a life of peace, joy, and fruitfulness. When we mix a healthy portion of trusting God into everything that we do, it enables us to live without worry, anxiety, fear, reasoning, or debilitating stress. It is difficult to trust, especially if your trust has ever been broken, and without a doubt it has because we have all had our trust broken in big and small matters. A broken trust reinforces our tendency to be independent and self-reliant. That is the root of what makes it a struggle to let go of our control and trust God. The thing we need to remember is that learning to trust God is never going to result in disappointment - people, yes, but never God. And, beyond a very basic general trust we need to strive to trust God in every area of our lives: spiritual, relational, emotional, and financial. Meyers teaches in each chapter, with numerous examples from her own life and the Bible, that we can set the pain and circumstances of our past behind, delve into the Word of God, and start trusting the Lord with all our hearts. This will result in a life that can withstand difficult trials while filled with grace and joy. Certainly I can give examples from my own life where I placed my situation in God's hands and trusted that He would make all things work together for my good. I have experienced God taking what appeared to be an impossible situation and making it all work out for my good in the end. However, keep in mind that like Joseph, you may still have to go through trials and it may take time. You may also need to ask the Lord to help you trust Him more. Unshakeable Trust by Joyce Meyer is a must read for anyone who has a sincere desire to increase their trust in God. I firmly believe that it delivers on the promise of equipping and encouraging readers to find the joy of trusting God at all times and in all things. Joyce truly takes readers on a journey towards building a solid and genuine trust in God. She starts by explaining what trust is and then helps readers grasp why God is worthy of our trust. From that point on she explores a variety of challenges that we encounter with trusting God and shares how we can work towards overcoming them. Having read a number of Joyce’s books, the one thing that I enjoy most about them is how everything she discusses is rooted in the Word of God. Rarely will you find a page in one of Joyce’s books that is void of a biblical Scripture. I love that because the Word of God is always a page away! Of all the books that I’ve read by Joyce, this is definitely one of my favorites. Battlefield of the Mind is the only one I’d rank above it. This book addresses a topic that many believers in Jesus Christ struggle with, usually in silence. I firmly believe that this book is going to help many people strengthen and increase their faith in our Heavenly Father. I can’t think of a stone that Joyce left uncovered. She explored so many facets of trusting God. Including trusting God when we experience suffering, how to trust God day by day, the challenges of trusting God when we face the unknown and how to trust God when He’s silent. That’s honestly just the tip of the iceberg. There are so many valuable insights and practical tips that readers can begin applying in their lives as they read along. Believe it or not, I don’t have one knock against this book. It is a resource that I truly believe will benefit anyone who is in a place to receive the insights that Joyce shares and ready to apply the biblical principles in their lives. If you are someone who has struggled with fully trusting God, this book is for you. Read it seriously and intently and it’s likely to change your life and your relationship with Jesus Christ for the better. I received this book free from the publisher through their book review bloggers program and I was not required to write a positive review.
I've heard it stated that once trust is broken, it can be the hardest thing to repair. That is probably true because no one wants to deal with the "I told you so's!" when it happens again through no fault or perhaps fault of our own. In fact it was the first lesson I learned in my second marriage. I was hell bent on people having to earn my trust before I just gave it to them. However my future husband told me if I do that, you are treating everyone else that comes into your life as if they were the one's that broke your trust to begin with. Everyone has to be given a 100% in your life and you adjust accordingly. We all can agree that once trust has been violated, it is hard to mend those fences. In fact, it begs to ask the question is it even possible to do? Well in Joyce Meyer's latest book. Unshakable Trust, she reminds readers in how to find the joy of trusting God at all times and in all things, because when we place our trust in man, it will be likely broken at some point because we are expecting perfection and no one can give us that perfection but God in our lives. Even I can agree that I am far from perfect so why would I anticipate that my trust would be an different. Trusting God is the best way to honor God and the benefits of doing so are countless and amazing. I could tell you story after story of putting my trust in God even when I didn't trust myself and have seen the incredible benefits in doing so. In fact God's ways almost defy human explanation. Trust is not an obligation we owe to God. It is a privilege that He makes available to us. When we do this, we open the door to a life of peace, joy and fruitfulness in our lives. It enables us to live without fear, worry, anxiety, fear, reasoning or debilitating stress. God wants us to lean on Him at all times and in all things, not just the ones we aren't getting our own way in. Since we all have a tendency to be self-reliant and independent, it usually takes us quite a while to learn how to trust God. Part of that difficulty stems from our unpleasant experiences that often teach us that people cannot always be trusted. But God's ways are far above those of people, and His Word teaches us that His character is such that He cannot lie or deceive. In this book, Joyce will show you how to learn to trust without borders and have faith beyond reason. Total trust in God should be our goal. Hebrews 11:6 states, "without faith it is impossible to please Him." Faith and trust are so connected that we cannot separate them. It maintains His presence in our lives and connects us to Him in a very powerful way. Yet we also have an enemy, Satan, who continually seeks to prevent us from enjoying a relationship with God and the life He offers us. Satan tempts us with worry, fear, and anxiety, reasoning, stress, doubt and everything else that will get our mind off of God and cause us to lead self-absorbed lives in which we desperately try to take care of ourselves. I received Unshakable Trust by Joyce Meyers compliments of Faith Words, a division of Hachette Book Groups. The only antidote for these miseries is complete trust in God. The best part of any of Joyce Meyer's books is that she shares her own personal struggles, often times laced with a bit of humor and gives you just the right advice as if your own momma were dishing it out. It's straightforward, honest, and cuts right through the worlds own perverted self help ways to get us out of whatever we are going through. She can sho
