Overview

The backstory that fans have been clamoring for—how Rock and Trisha fell in love—is the final installment in the Sea Breeze series from New York Times bestselling author Abbi Glines. And don’t miss the sizzling epilogue, where Abbi wraps up all the Sea Breeze couples’ stories!

Trisha Corbin always knew how to hide a bruise. With her momma’s boyfriends unable to keep their hands off of her, she had no choice. And as long as it meant the guys wouldn’t go near her little brother, Krit, it was worth it. But her days of dreaming that Prince Charming would ever come rescue her are far, far in the past.

Rock Taylor always had a plan. Through football, he would rise above the life he was born into. A full ride to play for a major college team was within his reach—assuming he didn’t let anything get in his way. But scoring a date with the hottest girl in Sea Breeze was proving harder than expected. Trisha Corbin was every man’s walking fantasy, and she wouldn’t even glance his way.

When Rock finally does get Trisha in his truck, it isn’t for a date. It’s because he picks her up on the side of the road, beaten and bruised and walking to the local hospital. Before Rock knows it, football is no longer his life. Trisha Corbin is. And he’ll do anything to save her. And keep her.

In addition to Rock and Trisha’s love story, this special conclusion to the Sea Breeze series contains the wrap-up stories of all your favorite Sea Breeze couples: Sadie and Jax, Marcus and Low, Cage and Eva, Preston and Amanda, Jess and Jason, Krit and Blythe, and Dewayne and Sienna. The steamy romance won’t stop until the very last page!

Until the End

  • Chapter One

    Present Day

    Rock

“Daddy, watch this!” Daisy May exclaimed excitedly. As if she didn’t already have my complete attention.

    “I’m watching,” I assured her.

She ran and began doing cartwheels across the backyard before flipping backward into what I now knew was called a back handspring. My baby girl was a little gymnast, and with that came a lot of practices. But every time she beamed at me and said, “Daddy, watch this!” I couldn’t think of anything else I’d rather watch.

The past two and a half years of being my little girl’s daddy had been some of the best years of my life. Only one other smile moved me as much as Daisy May’s.

Trisha stepped out the back door, smiling at me, with two glasses of lemonade in her hands. That smile was the other one that owned me. Daisy May had become my little girl a few years ago, but Trisha had been my girl for much longer. I had been entranced by the teenager who wouldn’t give me the time of day, and completely captivated by the woman she had become.

She was the best mother in the world if you asked Daisy May, Brent, or Jimmy. She was the most incredible woman in the world if you asked me. And she knew damn well we all adored her.

“You nailed that, Daisy, baby,” Trisha cheered, and Daisy May instantly lit up. Our little girl had lived the first seven years of her life without the love of a mother. The woman who had given life to our children hadn’t been able to love anyone. She’d been angry and bitter and had neglected not only the children we now claimed as our own but her oldest son too—one of my best friends, Preston Drake. He’d been the only love these kids had known until their mother overdosed, leaving them in need of a home. Preston had been ready to take his younger siblings in, but Trisha and I had fallen in love with all of them. When we’d asked him to let us adopt the kids, he had agreed. He’d wanted them to have a home life with parents who loved them. Something he had never experienced.

They all worshipped the ground Preston walked on. He was still their older brother, and he watched them every Thursday night and any other time Trisha and I needed a night out alone. It was a family unit that worked.

I was one lucky son of a bitch.

“Momma, do you think I’ll make the team next week?” Daisy May asked as Trisha handed her a glass of lemonade.

“I think you’ve worked hard and you have as good a chance as anyone. But no matter what happens, you are number one to us.”

Like always, Trisha knew the right answer to everything, and Daisy May beamed at her.

“Preston said he would be there,” Daisy May said, plopping down on the grass beside me.

“Then he will be. You know he wouldn’t miss your tryouts for anything,” I replied, taking the glass Trisha held out for me—then pulling her down onto my lap. I liked having my woman in my lap. Always had.

“I’m nervous,” Daisy May added, then took a sip.

Trisha reached over and pulled Daisy toward us and tucked her under her arm. “We will be right there cheering you on. You’ve worked hard, and no matter what happens, you will be our star. We will be so proud of what you’ve accomplished. Most of those girls have been taking gymnastics since they were very young. You’ve managed to get a chance at the team in only two years! That right there is a reason to be proud.”

I loved this woman. She could make anyone feel better. I was sitting out here, getting nervous thinking about Daisy May trying out to make the competitive team, and Trisha wasn’t making just Daisy feel better—my nerves were easing too.

Truth was, I didn’t like the idea of anyone telling my baby girl no. But Trisha kept reminding me I couldn’t fight all their battles in life. It was so damn hard, though. They’d suffered enough in their earlier years.

“Next week I get to be a flower girl again,” Daisy said, grinning up at us. She didn’t stay focused on one thing too long. She was already thinking about Preston and Amanda’s wedding.

“You have several weddings coming up. But I imagine next week’s is the one you’re most excited about,” Trisha said, ruffling Daisy May’s brown curls.

“Yep! I can’t wait. Amanda said me and Brent and Jimmy get to all stand up there with them when they say their . . . uh . . . them things they say. I forgot what it’s called.”

Trisha leaned back against me as I chuckled. “While they say their vows,” I said, and Daisy May nodded.

“That’s it. We get to stand up there. And Jimmy gets to hand Preston the ring. The one he puts on Amanda’s finger. And I get to give Amanda the surprise . . .” Daisy’s eyes got big and she shut her mouth.

“What?” Trisha asked before I could.

Daisy May shook her head and grinned, then twisted an imaginary lock on her lips and tossed away an equally imaginary key.

Apparently, Preston had some kind of secret only Daisy May knew about.

“Well, now I’m even more anxious for the wedding,” Trisha said as she sank farther into me. My arms were wrapped around her waist, and I was beginning to think about where I’d like to move my hands. My wife was smoking hot. She always had been. It never got old seeing her in a pair of tiny shorts and a tank top. This body could stop traffic.

Our fifth wedding anniversary was coming up in four months. I had already prepared Preston that I’d need his help. I intended to take her somewhere special. We’d never had a real wedding. We couldn’t afford one. But I had been desperate to make her mine. Back then I kept thinking she’d figure out she could do better and leave me. When I had convinced her to go to the courthouse and become mine forever, I hadn’t thought about the fairy-tale wedding she deserved. I had just wanted Trisha.

It was time my woman had the fairy-tale wedding she deserved right before we went on the honeymoon we’d never gotten.

The first time I’d seen her, she had taken my breath away. Getting her attention had been one hell of a ride. She’d been so determined to stay away from me. Or any man. Then I’d found out why . . . and I’d sworn to myself she’d never have to live in fear again.

Falling in love with Trisha had changed my life. My friends and family had said I was an idiot. I was throwing away my future. Butch Taylor, my father, had never been a big part of my life until I had become a high school football star. For once I had a parent who gave a shit about me. It had been something I’d craved since I was a kid. Making him proud and proving I was worth loving had been what drove me to work harder. My dream was within my reach. I had my father cheering me on, and I would make it to college and then—I knew—I’d play pro ball.

Until my dream changed the day a pair of the prettiest blue eyes I’d ever seen stared at me across the parking lot one morning before school started. That was the first day of my sophomore year, and it would be another twelve months before I would be able to get Trisha Corbin to even speak to me.

With one look, that girl had changed my dreams.

That was probably the most amazing book by Abbi Glines I've ever read; and I've been with her since the beginning! And the ending of Ten Years Later! I swear, I sat in my bed for 10 minutes straight just saying, "Oh, my God,". I REALLY hope Abbi writes another book telling about Bliss and Nate!

I was so excited to finish this series I could not wait for the public library to get this book. I had to buy it!!! So glad I did. This is the story of Rock & Trish from the Sea Breeze Series. It also has a update on all the couples we met in the Sea Breeze Series. It is the 9th and final book in the series. I cannot express how much I loved this series and this book. If you have not read any of Abbis books I highly recommend all of them. If you want to read this one, please take the time to read the others in the series first. The series begins with Breathe. I strongly encourage you to read any/all of Abbi Glines books as they are all great! ENJOY!

An amazing conclusion to an amazing series. I will miss the whole gang, but I'm so happy she gave us Rock & Trisha's beginning. I did feel like she could of made their story a bit longer. I loved the epilogues!! The ending...Swoon! Best last book in a series EVER!!!

I want to say that since I discovered Abbi Glines more then a year ago, I've been crazy about her books. I have read every one and am sad to see this series and characters go. However I was a little dissapointed in this book, I felt it should have been longer, the complete Rock and Trisha then and now story, like he wants her to have her dream wedding now since she didn't then but their story cuts off. I felt it was incomplete and it saddened me. The epilogue updates of every other couple were however amazing and I love that Green was thrown in there even though I think a Jackdown spin off would totally rock! And the ending! Oh My God what an ending with Bliss and Nate... is that a new spin off?? It makes me curious and excited to see what Abbi has in store for us!

3.5 stars I thought it was an okay book. I thought it was going to be more on Rock and Trisha but they got such a small portion. I loved how they were with the siblings of Preston’s that they adopted. They were so sweet together. I did like it showed more of Trisha and Krit’s younger days and the crappy stuff they had to deal with. My issue was how unbelievable it was during their high school days. I find it hard to believe that every girl wants to get with boys of the books because back in my highschool days, boys didn’t look and act like the boys did in this book. lol While I liked that every couple got an epilogue, it bothered me also. I’m sorry but sex does not fix fights or insecurities. And almost everyone that had some issues that was solved by sex. Deep sigh. Besides that, I liked that it showed 10 years in the future with everyone and their kids. They breed like a bunch of rabbits. lol. I also liked that it showed Bliss (Cage and Eva’s daughter) and her meeting Nate Finlay (Rush and Blaire’s son). I’m sure that will be an interesting book.

I'm so sad to see this series end. I've grown very attached to all of these characters. This final book is the back story of how Rock and Trisha fell in love. They were high school sweethearts. Their story was just as addictive as the previous eight. These two have an added cuteness though because you get to know them bit by bit through out the series. The epilogue was amazing. It let us visit the previous eight couples and get updated on where they are and what's going on. Lastly, we get a glimpse of a couple of their kids in their teen years. Does this mean they will be getting their own book? I sure hope so! Maybe they're written already. I'll have to check the author's website!

The only way I could be better was if rock and Trish were named Dickinson Longinton and Trish was named Vagiena Tightly. OMG best book ever. F!@$ yes.

I just love how all the characters in this series are all interconnected. You can keep up with your favorite couples during the other books and stuff which is totally cool :)

Wow, what a way to end a series! Glines wraps it up with a big HEA that started before the series ever began. Until the End is the back story of the beloved couple Trisha and Rock. Their story is rocky, an emotional roller coaster of true love but ends with the HEA we know they will find. Difficult circumstance of abuse, neglect and finding solace and family in each other make these characters come alive every page you turn. But Rocky’s and Trisha’s story aren't the only story told. Glines also gives us a wonderful update on all the other Sea Breeze couples. Although its about HEA, they may be a certain gentleman or two who needed a little kick in the pants to get their lives back on track. The clincher was Glines very last sentence, you just couldn’t help but smile. I highly recommend all new adult romance fans check out Abbi Glines’ the Sea Breeze series. This is a series I will be re-reading. I received this ARC copy of Until the End from Simon Pulse in exchange for a honest review.

Ruined the series for me. Felt like a different author wrote it. I read several books from the sea breeze series (more than once) as well as several other books by this author and have really enjoyed them. There are short chapters ( epilogues) for each of the sea breeze books giving you a glimpse of each couple a few years later. Mostly she wrote really stupid dramatic conflics for each of the couples as a way to introduce a sex scene that was pretty crude & unlike anything from her other books. I honestly can't believe anybody found this to be a good conclusion to this series. I will not be reading abbi glines in the future.

I guess the "summer camp" stories are becoming a trend? XD Please continue!
Anonymous More than 1 year ago
Camp? Didn't look like it. The place was just a cluster of tiny wood cabins. I cought a glimpse of a large cabin in the shrubs, but thought it was for the campmasters. "Hey, Sydney!" Called a familiar voice. I was overjoyed to find Seth Cleaver from my homeroom standing across the clearing. "The girls' side is on the other side of the woods!" He crowed. That explained why I saw none of my gender. I sighed and trudged accross the woods. *** he girls' side was, as a matter of fact, a lot larger than the boys'. It housed more than twenty cabins (four people each cabin), whereas the boys' had only seventeen. I asked a young woman which cabin I went to. "Sydney Coyson, huh...you're C4." She replied. I walked over to a cabin with big block letters over the door. It read 'WELCOME TO REDWOOD CAMP!!!!!' Despite the fact I saw no redwoods, but oaks instead. Two girls were sitting on the railing of the porch, talking to eachother. I recognised them as Tesa Manor and Clover McHills. They were the closest of how close friends could get. They were in my History class back in Bill Clinton Middle. I ignored their speech and opened the door. Or I attempted to. I finally pried it open. My friend, Ria Zimies was laying down on a bunkbed with a comic book. I waved and she nodded back. *** Food was worse. The brown goop on my plate looked like mashed potatoes mixed with BBQ Sauce and smothered with beans. I hestitantly took a bite. I gasped and spit it out onto the plywood floor. I looked around for Seth. He was sitting by James and Hayden at the boys' side. I wanted to sit by him so badly, but there was more than an invisible wall between the two genders: there was a rule for no girl to sit with a boy or a boy to sit with a girl. I don't get any of the rules here. There's the regulars for Summer camps: no electronics, no games, bo phones, no mp3s,,, but there were some bizarre rules, too: No eating before 6:45 on the nose, no reading for less than 2 hours (!!!), and so on. After consistent vomiting and watching the poor janitor walk around the auditorium with a mop and cleaning the goop on the floor, we somehow survived and made it to C4. I lay on the top bunk. I thought about the next 30 days at this (probably) illegal torture site. Tesa snored loudly as I tried to get myself to sleep. I failed. I was still thinking about Seth Cleaver, the boy across the woods in a tiny cabin just like mine. *** Like it? No? Yes?

I loved this book more than the rest of the series. It might be that my life is alot like Trisha but i just loved this book so much. I got the sample and by the end of the 33 pages I had to purchase the book asap. I am very sad about this being the end of the series but I am also very happy with it.
