¿If you are looking for God and you just can¿t seem to find him, then stop what you are doing and worship him¿and he will come find you.¿ Worship originates with an appreciation of our relationship to God, and our relationship through our understanding of our worth to him. ¿God isn¿t looking for servants,¿ he is looking for sons and daughters on which to lavish his prodigious love. The heart of worship is the paradox that we can only express love to him because he first loved us. My highest recommendation for The Way of the Worshiper is for its transcendence of denominations, its way of making an incorporeal spiritual discipline feel practical and achievable, but mainly, for the way the book¿s approach models its concept. Each chapter begins with a relevant scripture and closes with a prayer based around it, showing what Owens defines as the key to worship: conversational prayer. The book is small, tightly written, and to the point. The writing's lack of embellishment might seem to lessen the significance (it could be just another ¿little book¿ from a lesser publisher). And though this is one book that deserves it, the lack of hype Buddy and Maranatha have ascribed allows the concept to 'ride in on a donkey,' as it were, and allows us to extrapolate on the enormity of its impact. Having experienced the change in my own prayer life of the discipline Owens makes clear, I offer my shameless praise.
