Summary: Three friends are taking a walk in the forest and looking at all the colorful leaves. On the way the encounter a mountain, forest, waterfall, and a skunk. The three friends find all types of leaves from all types of different trees. Personal Reaction:I love how this book is written like the bear hunt song. This book also describes many of the trees and there leaves. The kids have fun walking in the forest and over the mountains, but when they see the skunk they realize they are in trouble and need to make a run for it.Classroom Extension Ideas:1. I would love to read this book to the class during the fall time of the year. Since it talks about all the the kinds of trees there are it would be a great learning book as well.2. After reading this book, I would love to take the class on a leaf walk so they could find their own leaves. We could do a leaf rub when we return back to the class for their art.
