It takes a team to build a tree house—but what if that team includes one very bossy moose?

When Fox, Toad, Bear, Porcupine, and Skunk set out to build a tree house, they know just what to do: they’ll follow a plan and they’ll work as a team. But when bossy Moose barges in and upends their plans with some of his own, his friends become more and more frustrated…until things go hilariously awry!

This lively rhyming picture book is pure, bouncy fun even as it imparts a subtle lesson about teamwork. Young readers will love to chant along: “But what about you, Moose!”

A bossy-pants can sometimes be a handful and tough to work with. What About Moose? tackles the themes of working together with varied personalities, problem solving, and learning from mistakes. But,guess what? The themes are disguised beautifully, allowing this story to come across as a fun, character-driven animal team of friends working together to build a tree house. The seamless rhymes are lively and the playful illustrations compliment the varied character personalities, while painting a colorful, busy tree house work zone. To top it all off, the satisfying climax is funny and accented by a brilliant surprise at the end of the story. I received a review copy of this book from Atheneum Books for Young Readers in exchange for an honest review.
