Overview

As Sean Halverson recovers from a gunshot wound to his spine which has paralyzed him from the waist down, his mood turns from hopeful, to anger, resentment and revenge, as he realizes that he may never walk again. His sister, Sharon Halverson, CEO of Halvermed Industries, is ever at his bedside during the recovery period at a hospital in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The story begins where book one in the series, "Adversity is Not Optional" left off, and continues the non-stop action to a questionable end. Along the way, the characters find meaning and purpose in a world which appears to be spiraling into darkness.

The re-emergence of an individual in Tunis, Tunisia who was prominent in the militant atheistic community in Minnesota and the United States raises questions regarding the ability of law enforcement agencies to adequately protect individuals at risk. Good and evil collide once again in this novel which examines where anger dwells and where it leads an individual if he or she does not act to channel their anger to a positive end or some worthwhile cause or goal. The main characters learn that left unchecked, arrogance, intolerance, and hatred will lead an individual, group, or community down a very destructive path.
